They were nothing like frail women; they were war gods made flesh.

Jiang Xiaotian kept coughing, utterly awed by the three before him.

When would he ever be able to face an enemy with such confidence and say, either get lost or fight?

The masked man was immensely powerful, yet even for him, those three were a formidable problem.

Perhaps he did not wish to waste time here. Since he had already failed today, he turned, slipped into the darkness, and vanished.

The experts of the Ouyang family did not lower their guard. They remained stationed all around, wary of a surprise attack.

Against such despicable trash, one could never afford carelessness.

In the space of a few breaths, a jumble of footsteps sounded behind Jiang Xiaotian.

Quite a few people had rushed over, seemingly all from the Ouyang family. They had their own physicians, who immediately began treating the severely wounded.

And when the girl at their head saw Ouyang Zijing sitting off to the side, panting for breath, her little face went pale with fright. “Sister! Are you all right? Heavens, what happened here?”

Jiang Xiaotian knew that voice all too well. He quickly turned his head to look, and sure enough, it was his fairy sister.

At the sight of her, Ouyang Zijing’s expression softened considerably, and she even managed a faint smile. “Ziqian, don’t be so nervous. I’m fine.”

In truth, they had all noticed Jiang Xiaotian as well, but since no one knew who he was, naturally no one had come forward to help him.

Only now did Ouyang Zijing realize it, and she was so annoyed she promptly ordered someone over to assist him.

The moment she heard that he had saved her sister, Ouyang Ziqian hurried over and personally examined Jiang Xiaotian’s injuries.

She had little ability of her own. Born into a martial family, she possessed not the slightest gift for martial arts, though she understood a little medicine. Still, with her peerless beauty and a temperament soft enough to melt the heart, she was more than a fitting representative of the Ouyang family.

The moment he saw her approach, Jiang Xiaotian hurriedly tugged at the torn cloth over his face and covered himself up tightly.

Carrying with her a faint, fragrant breeze, Ouyang Ziqian came before him, then gently supported his head with her hand.

“Are you all right? The bruising on your neck is severe! Don’t move around, whatever you do, or your life could be in danger!” Ouyang Ziqian’s voice was full of urgency. It was easy to tell that she was genuinely worried about him.

Only then did Jiang Xiaotian realize that both sides of his neck truly hurt badly, as though he had strained it in his sleep and could hardly move it at all.

Then, to his astonishment, Ouyang Ziqian knelt directly on the ground and placed Jiang Xiaotian’s head upon her lap.

Jiang Xiaotian was stunned.

His mind filled with the scent of a young woman and the sight of Ouyang Ziqian’s incomparably gentle face.

“If it hurts, you must tell me,” Ouyang Ziqian said softly, stroking the bruised area on his neck, seeming to help restore the flow of blood and energy through his channels. Her touch was light and slow, tender beyond words. Jiang Xiaotian did not feel pain in the slightest; he felt so comfortable he could barely believe it.

“Thank you for helping my sister. She has a quick temper, and sometimes she can be rash and sharp-tongued. Please don’t take it to heart. She’s a very good girl.” Perhaps sensing that Jiang Xiaotian had relaxed, Ouyang Ziqian also let out a small breath of relief and began to explain.

Though she did not know why this fellow wanted to keep his face covered, if he was unwilling to show himself, then he surely had his own reasons. She would never pry, much less do anything thoughtless.

Jiang Xiaotian gave a low, grave sound of acknowledgment.

Ouyang Ziqian blinked, then smiled gently. “Your voice sounds a little familiar. Do we know each other?”

He was startled.

This girl was far too perceptive.

But he absolutely could not expose himself now. He had already thoroughly offended the Zhao and Li families. If his identity were revealed, he would likely find it impossible to take a single step in this place.

He drew spiritual energy to his throat, and his voice instantly sounded like that of another person. “Miss, you must have heard wrong.”

To his surprise, Ouyang Ziqian let out a soft laugh. “No need to try so hard. Don’t worry. Even if we really do know each other, I would never expose you. Just lie still and rest for a while.”

Heavens. Heavens.

This was truly a fairy descended into the mortal world. How could there be such a gentle girl in all the world?

Whoever married Ouyang Ziqian one day would surely be enjoying the blessings of a hundred lifetimes.

By now, Jiang Xiaotian no longer wanted to speak. He only wanted to die in this land of tenderness.

Though Ouyang Ziqian was not a martial artist, she had lived in such an environment for so long that her methods resembled those of a martial healer.

With her exquisite massage technique, coupled with Jiang Xiaotian’s already astonishing power of recovery, the stagnant blood from his internal injuries quickly dispersed. In a short while, he was almost no different from an ordinary healthy person.

But he did not want to get up.

Ouyang Ziqian had already stopped, yet Jiang Xiaotian still lay on her lap.

But Heaven had apparently never once let him have his way.

Because Jiang Xiaotian suddenly felt a sharp pain in his backside and was kicked rolling off to the side.

“Gratitude is one thing, but don’t you dare take the chance to cop a feel off my little sister!” Ouyang Zijing’s voice made it clear that she was the culprit.

“Ah! Sister, how can you be so rough! Are you all right? I’m so sorry, so sorry!” Ouyang Ziqian was terrified. She quickly helped Jiang Xiaotian up, then shot her sister a mildly reproachful glare.

“Hmph, he’s perfectly fine. That damned bastard wanted his martial path. Before he gets it, this brat isn’t dying.” Ouyang Zijing had judged the matter rather clearly.

But her way of speaking was, as always, something her younger sister hated. “Honestly, Sister! How many times do I have to tell you? Stop swearing! Aren’t you afraid you’ll never get married?”

Ouyang Zijing rolled her eyes. This rigid little sister of hers was the only person she could never win an argument against.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaotian suddenly felt the air around him grow heavy. Turning his head, he saw that the three experts had come to his side.

“Zijing, what exactly happened here?” The one in the lead looked grave. This was no trivial matter.

Faced with her, Ouyang Zijing dropped her playful manner and explained everything seriously.

It turned out that not long ago, a strange little girl had suddenly appeared and warned her that she had already been exposed, and that the Zhao and Li families would be arriving soon.

After saying that, the girl disappeared. Ouyang Zijing had been unable even to track her. Such a bizarre occurrence was not something she dared take lightly, nor could she dismiss the warning as a joke. So she had hurriedly gathered people to prepare a response. But she had been careless. She had not expected the Li family to send Li Qing, who had not only reached the middle stage of internal force, but had joined with Zhao Yin in a genuine attempt to cripple her.

What happened after that was just what they had all witnessed.

As Jiang Xiaotian listened, certain things now made sense.

No wonder the lights in the park had been on that day, and no sooner had Ouyang Zijing appeared than she was searching for someone. So she had already known part of the situation.

But after hearing this, Ouyang Ye, one of the Three Elites, furrowed her brows tightly. “A little girl? Was she a girl who looked to be around a dozen years old?”
