The Dragon Kingdom Saga Chapter One: The Invasion of the Supernatural Beasts
“What? There’s a superpowered beast invasion in Minatas City?” Lisa’s face instantly drained of color. She looked at the secretary before her, Amy, unsure of what to say. Without a word, she briskly strode toward the war room. Along the way, she bit her lip tightly and murmured to herself, “Send me detailed information on Minatas City immediately. I need to summon the Martial Gods at once!”
Sunlight streamed through her silky, golden hair, making it shimmer with extraordinary brilliance. The exquisite hairpin she wore, combined with her nearly perfect figure, made her truly captivating. Even in such a tense moment, her angry expression was as striking as any other woman’s.
She had originally planned to enjoy a day of shopping, dressed in a splendid gown, but the sudden invasion of superpowered beasts shattered her plans. After all, she was the Martial Lord of the Martial God Kingdom! The kingdom bore the sacred mission of protecting all living things and repelling evil forces. It tolerated no threat to world peace.
As Lisa gently pushed open the office door, her breathing quickened, as if the entire room was suffused with a tense, oppressive atmosphere. She keenly sensed that today was unlike any other.
By the bookshelf, a young man leaned quietly against the wall. His figure was faint under the dim light. His sleek black hair, parted neatly to one side, could not hide the deep furrow of his brows and contemplative expression. Silent and lost in thought, he seemed detached from the surrounding noise. Standing bathed in the twilight glow, he looked like a finely sculpted work of art, exuding a unique and alluring charm.
Though not tall, his posture was erect and sturdy, like a small pine tree standing firm in the wind, giving a sense of solidity and dependability. His brows revealed a resolute and decisive spirit, sharp as a blade that could pierce the heart.
His eyes, a deep amber shade, shone like hope under the sun—clear and profound, exuding a calm and wise aura. When he gazed into the distance, his eyes seemed to penetrate time and space, discerning all. His nose was high and well-defined, lending him a distinctive handsomeness.
Under the sunlight, his skin was a healthy beige, radiating youth and vitality. His attire was always simple yet tasteful: a dark shirt, sharply creased trousers, and exquisite combat boots—all reflecting his refined style. Every gesture carried an air of composure, as if he could handle any adversity with ease.
His appearance was not mere decoration but a manifestation of his inner character; every detail exuded a unique charm that made his presence impossible to ignore.
Yet, the moment his eyes met Lisa’s, an invisible force seemed to compel him. Without hesitation, he reached out and firmly grasped her arm.
Lisa smiled softly, trying to break the silence with a casual tone. “Ah Heng, what’s wrong? Are you troubled? I’m quite busy, you know. If it’s nothing important, why not relax and read a book instead?”
Ye Heng’s gaze was unwavering and resolute. Staring into Lisa’s crystal-clear eyes, he said in a low but determined voice, “Sister, I don’t want to stand by any longer. I’m eager to join the fight, to stand alongside everyone and battle those terrifying superpowered beasts!”
A flash of surprise crossed Lisa’s face, quickly replaced by concern and worry. She gently patted Ye Heng’s hand and comforted him softly, “Ah Heng, the battlefield isn’t a place for games. You’re only seventeen and just entered the early B-rank Martial God stage. Facing those powerful beasts won’t be easy. It’s too dangerous—I can’t let you take such risks.”
Ye Heng’s eyes remained steadfast as he replied, “Being a B-rank Martial God doesn’t mean I can’t fight. Trust me, Sister Lisa—I’m destined to become the strongest Martial God of the future!”
Seeing she could not sway him, Lisa finally nodded in reluctant agreement. Her tone turned serious as she cautioned, “Alright, but don’t be reckless. You must learn to adapt to every situation. Especially, don’t use the forbidden technique of Martial God power berserk mode unless it’s a matter of life and death!”
Without hesitation, Ye Heng answered, “Yes, yes, yes, my dear Sister Lisa, you can rest assured!” But before Lisa could finish speaking, Ye Heng was already hastily leaving the war command room, muttering to himself, “This kid is really a headache. I worry he might lose control and unleash the berserk Martial God power…”
No sooner had Ye Heng left than a female Martial God burst into the war room, breathless and panicked. “Martial Lord! It’s bad! The superpowered beasts in Minatas City are multiplying rapidly again! This time, they’ve doubled! There are now nearly thirty thousand of them! I’m so scared…”
“Scared of what? Our Martial God Kingdom has never feared anyone! Wait, did you say... nearly thirty thousand beasts? Damn it! Are these monsters trying to destroy the entire city?” Lisa’s anger flared, and she clenched her fists tightly, pounding them heavily on the table.
Such a colossal number was unheard of in her experience, filling her heart with unprecedented unease. She widened her eyes, staring incredulously at the screen where the enemy surged like an overwhelming tide.
Soon, the fireworks over Minatas City were quickly obscured by smoke, covering the sky above the entire city. Yet behind this beautiful scene lurked endless fear and despair. People fled in terror, searching for safety. Children clung to their parents, crying, while elders silently prayed for the Martial Gods to arrive swiftly and save them.
Lisa clenched her fists tightly, vowing silently to protect the city and its people. She knew the weight of her responsibility and would not let the enemy succeed easily. Without hesitation, she threw herself into the battle…
At this critical moment, a little girl had become separated from her family amidst the chaotic invasion of superpowered beasts in Minatas City. She was in extreme danger, trapped with no escape.
Her trembling legs wide-eyed with terror, the girl stared at a monstrous superpowered beast looming before her like a mountain. The beast’s entire body was covered in hard, sharp ridges, mottled in a nauseating shade of bluish-green—utterly hideous. This, however, was only a common type of superpowered beast—a low-level one. It stood three meters tall, two meters wide, and an astonishing five meters long. It walked on all fours, its head resembling a tiger, its waist like a moose, but most strangely, its front limbs bore five fingers. After a triumphant roar, it slowly advanced its front paws toward the helpless girl collapsed on the ground.
Frozen in the middle of the street, the girl was paralyzed by fear. Her eyes trembled, her limbs numb and motionless. She was terrified of never seeing her parents again. Tears streamed down her cheeks, filled with sorrow and despair. Even facing death, she still whispered, “Mom, Dad…”
The beast’s next target was to break the girl’s arms. She stared in horror at the terrifying monster, struggling desperately to escape, but she was too weak to resist. “No, no! Don’t break my hands!” she screamed heart-wrenchingly, her tears blurring her vision. Yet no matter how she begged, the beast showed no mercy—in fact, it grew more excited.
In the next instant, a crisp crack was heard—the girl’s hand was forcibly twisted off, flying through the air. “Ah…” she let out a piercing scream as blood gushed like a red fountain from the severed limb, instantly staining her pretty dress. The excruciating pain was almost unbearable. Trembling, with rapid, uneven breaths, she stared in disbelief at her broken left hand, overwhelmed by despair and terror.
The beast roared triumphantly several times. Though it could not speak, its expression and movements clearly conveyed its joy. It treated the girl like a defenseless toy, reveling in cruelty.
The girl’s consciousness began to fade. Slowly closing her heavy eyelids, she prepared to embrace death. In her final moment, images of her parents flashed through her mind. With a faint voice, she whispered, “Mom, Dad, Yan’er doesn’t want to die...” The words were filled with endless sorrow and reluctance, as if bidding a last farewell to the world.
Suddenly, a dazzling golden light streaked past the collapsing beast with lightning speed! The light came so swiftly that the beast had no time to react, instinctively closing its eyes. Yet the moment it did, a wave of unbearable agony surged over it, forcing it to open its eyes and howl madly.
As the beast raised its head to attack Ye Heng, it was terrified to find its hands had somehow detached from its body! Staring wide-eyed in shock and despair at this sudden turn of events, it was utterly helpless.
At that moment, Ye Heng stepped forward without hesitation, his sword flashing like lightning. In a blur, he slashed through the beast’s neck with a single strike, severing its entire head effortlessly.
The little girl slowly opened her heavy eyelids,I'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
