(Memory)
At that time, Lisa was merely a novice newly inducted into the Martial God Bureau. Her eyes shimmered with a fervent desire for victory, yet reality struck like a merciless storm, shattering her hopes time and again. She tasted the bitterness of failure through countless missions and sought tirelessly for the root cause of her setbacks, only to find herself lost in a dense fog, unable to uncover the crucial clue.
Just as she sank into deep frustration and confusion, a warm hand gently rested on her shoulder. The warmth of the palm seeped through her clothing, reaching her skin and offering an inexplicable comfort.
“Failure always has its reasons. But remember, not all failures mean you are weak.”
Lisa slowly turned around to see a stranger standing behind her. His face was handsome, his gaze imbued with resolve and wisdom. Looking at him, an inexplicable emotion surged in her heart—like a young girl’s first love, a faint blush rose on her cheeks unconsciously.
Shyly, she lowered her eyes, as if those liquid eyes concealed endless secrets. However, her shyness did not completely suppress her curiosity; she cautiously lifted her gaze to steal a look at the man before her. His presence seemed to carry an indescribable charm, irresistibly drawing her in, her eyes unable to stray from him.
Her heartbeat echoed like drums in her chest; the tender bashfulness bloomed on her face like a freshly opened flower. The man smiled slightly, his voice gentle and magnetic: “Hello, I am Kai Wang, captain of the 11th squad.”
Lisa’s eyes instantly widened, sparkling like two crystal stars, filled with astonishment and curiosity. Stammering, she said, “C-captain of the 11th squad? I…I haven’t seen you before.” Realizing her awkwardness, she smiled lightly, trying to mask her embarrassment with a nervous laugh: “Haha… well, I just joined the 11th squad. Sorry about that.”
Kai Wang’s gaze lingered on her face briefly, tinged with inquiry and warmth. “You… are Lisa, right?”
Lisa nodded gently, her eyes flickering with curiosity and a hint of investigation. She softly asked, “How… how did you know about me?” Her words revealed a trace of confusion and surprise, as if it was incredible to know such a mysterious captain.
Upon hearing this, Kai Wang laughed heartily, his laughter full of openness and unrestrained spirit. He patted Lisa’s shoulder and pointed at the distant mission failure board. “Lisa, just look up at the top of that failure board. The Valkyrie renowned throughout the Martial God Bureau—that is you. You have already become the center of attention; how could anyone not know you?”
Hearing this, a blush quickly crept over Lisa’s face. She lowered her head shyly and said awkwardly, “Captain, are you here just to tease me?” She then turned to leave, as if wanting to escape the slightly embarrassing atmosphere.
However, at that moment, Kai Wang reached out his strong right hand and firmly grasped Lisa’s left hand, as if pulling her back from the verge of escape. His voice was steady yet gentle: “Lisa, don’t go. Weren’t you here to find me today? Are you going to miss our conversation over such a small matter? You see, this is exactly why you’ve failed so many missions. You need to be more careful and patient.”
His words were filled with concern and reproach, yet also a heartfelt lesson. Under Kai Wang’s gaze, Lisa gradually stopped and lifted her head. Her eyes glimmered with complex emotions, as if in this moment of silence, she found the courage to face her mistakes.
Kai Wang’s gaze rested on Lisa, who looked like a dew drop freshly blossomed at dawn—innocent and touched by an unrefined purity. A nameless flutter stirred in his heart, as if a long-dormant heart was gently stirred at this instant. A faint blush, like the rising morning glow, quietly colored his cheeks. This sudden feeling left him both bewildered and joyous.
Time passed silently as they stood side by side through storm after storm, completing mission after mission. Whether fierce battles or trivial tasks, their tactical coordination and battlefield intuition had long surpassed excellence. It was an unspoken understanding—no words were needed; a single glance revealed each other’s intent.
As the years accumulated, their relationship quietly transformed. Long companionship drew their hearts ever closer. The initial friendship, tempered by the flames of war, gradually blossomed into a profound feeling beyond simple comradeship—an emotional resonance and mutual reliance etched deeply in their bones.
This feeling was deeper and more complex than ordinary camaraderie. From initial friendship to fighting side by side, their bond was elevated through countless life-and-death trials, until they finally acknowledged their feelings and became lovers.

The SS-grade mission was launched once again—this marked the prelude to Lisa and Kai Wang’s first clash of swords on the battlefield.
Late at night, when students were fast asleep and their weary bodies sought brief respite, a shadow appeared silently like a ghost. Its speed was astonishing. In a flash, five students fell silently before Lisa’s eyes.

Shock and terror surged in Lisa’s heart. She hurriedly checked on the group, only to find her body numb as if frozen, unable to move. Looking up at the masked figure in black, she saw eyes gleaming coldly from the shadows, sending chills down her spine.
Lisa took a deep breath, struggling to steady her emotions, and shouted, “Who are you? We’ve already been stealthy enough—why would someone like you come after us?” Her voice echoed through the night, filled with anger and confusion.
The figure did not reply, standing silently like an insurmountable mountain. He glanced at Lisa before silently approaching her. He reached out, gently brushing her delicate cheek, a mocking smile playing at his lips. His voice was low and arrogant: “Who am I? You insignificant mortal dare to speculate?”
Lisa’s heart jolted; surprise flashed in her eyes but was quickly replaced by resolve. “You…” she began, only to be cut off by his indifferent back.
The mysterious man turned, flicking his fingers as if playing an invisible melody. Instantly, the air seemed torn apart as countless black-clad figures emerged like ghosts. They were agile and stern-faced, bearing the same ominous aura as the mysterious man.
Lisa’s face turned pale instantly, her pupils reflecting the endless tide of black-clad figures. Shock surged like waves within her. Yet just as everyone expected her to be intimidated, Lisa suddenly burst into laughter. “Ha ha ha ha! Kill me if you can! Even if you take my life today, there are thousands more Martial Gods in this world—can you kill them all?”
“Your answer still misses the point.” The mysterious man’s voice was deep and magnetic, carrying an irresistible power. He moved his fingers again, and a chilling killing intent filled the air.
He watched coldly, as though everything unfolded under his control. Slowly raising his hand, he prepared his next move. “Next comes the ceremony.” His voice echoed through the night, eerie and mysterious.
Suddenly, sharp sword lights erupted from the hands of the mysterious figures, like lightning streaking across the night, aimed at twelve B-level Martial Gods. They had no time to react, helplessly watching the sword lights approach, despair filling their hearts.
The sword lights flashed, and twelve B-level Martial Gods fell immediately, their bodies fragile and powerless under the moonlight. Blood stained the ground and Lisa’s eyes. Newly appointed, she faced such a crushing blow, her heart teetering on the brink of collapse.
“No—” Lisa’s scream pierced the night. Her pupils dilated as if to swallow everything around her. She watched helplessly as the twelve young students fell one by one under the swords, their lives extinguished like fragile flames.
As the newly appointed instructor of the 13th squad, Lisa’s heart felt torn apart. She couldn’t accept this reality, couldn’t accept her failure to protect innocent lives. Her mental state shattered completely, as if the entire world crumbled before her eyes.
Moonlight and blood mingled on her face, creating a grotesque and terrifying scene. Tears fell like broken pearls, soaking her cheeks. The emptiness, the helplessness, overwhelmed her instantly.
“I will kill you!” Lisa’s trembling yet resolute voice roared with all her might toward the mysterious man. Her eyes were bloodshot, filled with anger and despair. She wanted to avenge the fallen students, to use her power to stop this tragedy.
Yet the mysterious man only sneered coldly and swung his sword at Lisa again. The sword light shimmered like the reaper’s scythe, chilling to the bone.
“Ha ha ha ha… Come, I just want you to face reality!” The mysterious man’s voice echoed mockingly through the night, as if toying with Lisa, making her struggle in pain and despair.
She shut her eyes tightly, gritting her teeth, as if gathering all her anger and defiance in that instant. Her heart pounded like war drums, awakening latent power deep within. The air around her seemed to freeze; an invisible weight pressed down like a mountain, trying to crush her. Yet she did not yield. Under the pressure, her eyes snapped open, shooting determined and fiery light.
At that moment, she took a deep breath, as if drawing in the spiritual energy of the world, channeling it through every fiber of her being. Her hands clenched into fists, muscles taut, as if concentrating all her power in her palms.
“Martial God Sacred Armor!” she shouted, her voice resolute and unwavering. With her call, a mighty force erupted from within, like an invisible pillar of light piercing the heavens.
Around her, the air twisted as if pulled by a powerful force. Then, an armor formed from countless beams of light slowly materialized, enveloping her. The armor gleamed dazzlingly, as if forged from stars and flames, radiating an awe-inspiring aura.
“Rise!” she roared again, voice filled with strength and confidence. The Sacred Armor seemed to come alive, spreading rapidly over her body.
(Page 3/3)
Her body was tightly encased in the armor, as if clad in an indestructible battle suit. Her eyes shone sharply, as if piercing through all illusions. Her aura grew ever stronger, like a volcano on the verge of eruption, harboring world-shattering power.
She wielded her twin blades and charged at the mysterious man.
“Ha ha ha ha…” The mysterious man’s laughter echoed across the vast battlefield, tearing the air. He gripped his sword tightly, his eyes gleaming with anticipation and battle intent. “Let me witness whether your strength has truly leapt to another level.”
Before his words faded, he unleashed a tremendous Martial God power, instantly forming a splendid armor—the legendary Martial God Divine Armor. Martial God power armor has three tiers: the first is Battle Armor, the second Sacred Armor, and the mysterious man displayed the pinnacle third-tier Divine Armor.
The appearance of this Divine Armor immediately elevated his aura to its zenith, like a sovereign of heaven and earth. Even the battle-hardened Lisa felt a pang of unease. She knew well that the difference in realm often determined the outcome of combat; the higher one climbs, the clearer the distinctions become. Even a hair’s breadth difference could span worlds, as if crossing countless miles.
Facing this sudden pressure, Lisa felt nervous but her gaze grew firmer. She knew she had to give her all to fight this mysterious man. Taking a deep breath, she summoned all her strength, ready for the impending fierce duel.
The mysterious man smiled and drew his life weapon, “Dance of the Wind,” charging at Lisa.
At that moment, Lisa’s pupils suddenly contracted. She stared at the weapon gleaming coldly under moonlight, an indescribable shock rising in her heart. She never imagined the owner of Dance of the Wind would stand on the other side.
“Is he… really Kai Wang?” Turmoil surged within Lisa. The man she once loved, the warrior who once fought alongside her to protect the Martial God Nation, had now become a traitor. How could she accept this? Yet the harsh truth before her left no room for denial.
Her heart was torn by conflict and contradiction. On one hand, she refused to believe her beloved would do such a thing; on the other, she had to face this cruel reality. She gripped her weapon tightly but hesitated to strike.
Just as she wavered, the mysterious man reached her. His eyes were resolute and cold, as if intent on crushing her completely. Lisa knew there was no retreat; she had to choose.
Drawing a deep breath, a glimmer of determination flashed in her eyes. Regardless if this man was the Kai Wang she once loved, she must fight for the Martial God Nation. She tightened her grip on her weapon and faced the mysterious man’s assault.
In the next moment, an explosion shook the surroundings. Amid the blast’s aftermath, the mysterious man’s mask was ruthlessly torn apart, revealing the face Lisa once knew intimately—it was Kai Wang.
Lisa was defeated mid-battle; she knelt on the ground, watching her armor fall piece by piece, overwhelmed with disappointment.
He looked coldly at her, a mocking smile curling his lips: “You lost.”
At that moment, Lisa’s world seemed to collapse. She fell helplessly to the ground, tears flowing like a broken dam. She looked up at the man who once made her heart flutter, her voice trembling with despair: “Are you… really Kai Wang? Why did you do this? Why betray the Martial God Nation, even the entire Five Nations Alliance?”
Kai Wang’s gaze was cold: “You’re still too naive, Lisa. This world isn’t as simple as you imagine. Some things are beyond your understanding.”
