Volume One, Chapter 8: To Him, Lu Miao Was Just a Child~
Deer Miao, embarrassed and furious, snapped, "What are you doing?"
The man grasped her slender arm and whispered sternly, "Don't wander around at night."
"Who are you to control me?"
Fu Shiyue’s expression remained calm. "I am your guardian now."
As if always carrying it with him, he pulled a document from the inner pocket of his jacket and pressed it against Deer Miao’s forehead. "Same question—don’t make me explain three or four times."
With that, he dragged her back into the house.
The night was chilly, yet the paper pressed to his chest was still warm.
Deer Miao peeled the document off her forehead, her eyes cool. "You think a piece of paper gives you control over me?"
Fu Shiyue stopped walking and raised an eyebrow, looking back at her.
The young girl puffed out her cheeks, glaring with wide, round eyes, clearly dissatisfied.
Seeing the man remained silent, Deer Miao pulled her hand free and turned to run, only to be blocked by a shadow that moved faster than she did.
"Move aside, I’m going out."
The man’s body was like a wall—solid and unyielding. Deer Miao pushed in vain, her eyes and nose reddening in frustration as she glared at him. "What exactly do you want? I already made plans with my friends. I can’t stand them up."
Noticing her reddened nose, the man’s heart softened as he looked once again at Deer Miao’s beautiful face.
Dressed like a delicate butterfly, would she really come back if let out? Besides, where was she even going that could be considered a good place?
"Hurry and move aside. At worst, I’ll come back early."
Watching the flustered young girl before him, Fu Shiyue leaned lazily against the door. "If you can knock me down, you can go. Otherwise, you’ll stay home tonight."
Those words might as well have not been said.
She had already explained the situation to him, yet he gave no room for negotiation.
"You bastard!"
Deer Miao clenched her fists in anger and lunged to twist the doorknob, but Fu Shiyue effortlessly lifted her and pressed her against the liquor cabinet. Her head tilted, and she bit his wrist.
"Tsk," Fu Shiyue remarked, looking at the stubborn girl. "Can't win, so you resort to biting?"
Having faced knives and guns, he was unafraid of pain. No matter how hard she bit, his expression remained unchanged. Deer Miao released her mouth, leaving a neat circle of teeth marks on his wrist.
He glanced at the marks and smirked softly. "Nice bite, looks like a tattoo."
"I’ll kill you, you bastard!" Deer Miao raged, punching and kicking at him.
Fu Shiyue restrained her hands and lifted her up.
---
Deer Miao froze for a moment before realizing she was resting on the man’s shoulder.
Her face flushed red. "Y-you let me go!"
Fu Shiyue ignored her protests and strode into the living room, tossing her onto the sofa.
Deer Miao bounced on the sofa and was about to sit up when a shadow descended over her.
The man rested his arms on either side of her, leaning in to lock eyes with her. "Behave yourself. II'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
