Volume One, Chapter 15: Drink a Little More with Sister Tonight

Zhou Yang’s thoughts were not without reason.
Tang Yumei’s son, Xie Feng, had managed to get Lv Wei into the headquarters; naturally, Tang Yumei was far more capable than her son, so getting Zhou Yang into the EPS headquarters should be even easier.
Moreover, Tang Yumei showed no surprise at Zhou Yang’s entry into the headquarters—in fact, she seemed to have known in advance.
This only confirmed Zhou Yang’s suspicions further.
“Sister Mei, I want to ask you something!” Zhou Yang said.
“Go ahead,” she replied.
“Did you pull some strings...”
Before Zhou Yang could finish speaking, the doorbell rang suddenly.
“Wait a moment!”
Tang Yumei got up and opened the video monitor. Her expression darkened as she sighed, “It’s Xiaofeng!”
“Sister Mei, should I step aside?” Zhou Yang asked.
“There’s nothing to hide, why would you step aside? Just sit here,” Tang Yumei said, lightly pressing Zhou Yang’s shoulder and motioning for him to take a seat on the sofa. She patted him reassuringly and then went to open the door openly.
“Mom! I knew you moved here!” Xie Feng entered carrying large bags, followed by Lv Wei.
But the next moment, both Xie Feng and Lv Wei froze.
Zhou Yang was sitting on the sofa, as if he were the master of the villa.
They looked more like guests visiting a relative.
“Why are you here?” Xie Feng asked.
After many days, seeing Zhou Yang again at Tang Yumei’s place, a surge of humiliation and anger welled up inside Xie Feng.
Lv Wei looked utterly confused.
She had heard from Xie Feng that his mother had moved near the corporate headquarters, and today she had asked to meet her future mother-in-law.
If she could win the future mother-in-law’s approval, it would be like having one foot already inside the wealthy family.
But she never imagined that the first person she would see upon arriving at her future mother-in-law’s home would be Zhou Yang.
“Xiaofeng!” Tang Yumei snapped coldly, “Zhou Yang is my friend. You will not be rude!”
“Mom, tell me, what kind of friend is he to you?” Xie Feng’s veins bulged with fury as he shouted, “He’s just a lousy medicine peddler!”
“Don’t you dare speak about Zhou Yang like that!” Tang Yumei’s brows furrowed deeply. “He has been transferred to work at the headquarters and is temporarily staying with me.”
“What? Mom, did I hear that right? You two live together?” Xie Feng almost fainted on the spot.

Tang Yumei said, “I don’t understand why you keep targeting Zhou Yang. Let me be honest with you: Zhou Yang is currently treating my illness. He is my personal doctor now, so living here makes it convenient for him to take care of me.”
Lv Wei blurted out, “How could he possibly treat illness?”
Tang Yumei’s gaze turned icy; her queenly aura erupted instantly as she stared sharply at Lv Wei. “How do you know he can’t treat illness?”
“I…” Lv Wei immediately swallowed her words.
It was her first time meeting her future mother-in-law. A bad first impression would make things difficult later on.
So when Tang Yumei’s face turned cold, Lv Wei trembled all over.
Seeing this, Xie Feng seized the opportunity to speak, “Mom, don’t be fooled by him. He’s just a lousy medicine peddler who flatters you because he knows our family is rich!”
Tang Yumei responded, “Do you think I don’t know if he can treat illness? Who are you two to question that?”
“Auntie, Zhou Yang definitely can’t treat illness. I know him best!” Lv Wei lowered her head and said softly, “I’m his ex-girlfriend.”
“What?” Tang Yumei was taken aback, her beautiful eyes wide as copper bells.
She carefully scrutinized Lv Wei, then glanced at Zhou Yang.
Zhou Yang raised an eyebrow and spread his hands. “Sister Mei, you have a good son who just loves to steal other people’s girlfriends!”
In an instant, Tang Yumei understood everything.
“A girl who can be stolen away can’t be much good!” Tang Yumei glanced disdainfully at Lv Wei. “I’m not afraid to tell you—Xiaofeng has brought so many girls to meet me, I’ve lost count!”
Lv Wei’s face instantly turned extremely ugly.
“Mom, how can you say such things?” Xie Feng complained.
“I’m doing this for your own good!” Tang Yumei said. “Women understand women. If a girl wouldn’t even look at a guy like Zhou Yang, then if she’s with you, it’s not because she really likes you.”
“I don’t care about all that. The bottom line is, Zhou Yang is a liar. He can’t treat illness at all!”
Xie Feng, afraid that Tang Yumei would be swayed, chose to ignore Lv Wei for the moment.
“Auntie, we were together for four years in college. Zhou Yang simply doesn’t know how to treat illness,” Lv Wei said.
“That’s because you never truly understood me!” Zhou Yang bit his teeth and said coldly.
“Heh!” Lv Wei sneered coldly. “Zhou Yang, I know you’re desperate to make something of yourself, but using such deceitful methods is just shameless!”
“Mom, did you hear that? His girlfriend of four years just testified against him, and you still believe him?”
At that moment, Xie Feng’s anger reached its peak. “Zhou Yang, you liar, get out of here now!”
He charged at Zhou Yang and threw a punch at his face.
Last time at the rented apartment, Xie Feng had almost completely beaten Zhou Yang, breaking his head with a stool.
So Xie Feng was confident he could easily overpower Zhou Yang physically.
Tang Yumei didn’t expect Xie Feng to actually make a move, and it was too late to stop him.
The next second, Xie Feng’s fist was already heading toward Zhou Yang’s face.
But this time, Zhou Yang remained calm.

He suddenly bent down, and with his index and middle fingers pressed together, he jabbed sharply into Xie Feng’s abdomen.
“Ah!”
Xie Feng cried out in pain and staggered backward, his face turning pale, large beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
“You said I can’t treat illness? Let me tell you! My family has studied Chinese medicine for generations. I know the human skeleton, meridians, and acupoints like the back of my hand!” Zhou Yang said. “I just struck your abdominal distress point, one of the most painful acupoints in the abdomen. How does it feel?”
“Stop talking nonsense!” Xie Feng refused to admit defeat and charged at Zhou Yang again despite the pain.
But by now, he was completely drained of fighting power.
Zhou Yang grabbed his arm, twisted it gently to the side, and Xie Feng screamed miserably.
“The human body has 206 bones and 308 joints. I just dislocated your arm!” Zhou Yang said as he pushed Xie Feng away. Xie Feng’s arm hung limply, powerless.
At that moment, Xie Feng was utterly dumbfounded.
Lv Wei was also stunned.
She had never known Zhou Yang possessed such skills.
Zhou Yang’s precise knowledge of acupoints and joints clearly showed his mastery of Chinese medicine.
The last time Zhou Yang was beaten at the rented apartment, it was because of Lv Wei’s betrayal and his own anger clouding his judgment that allowed Xie Feng to get the upper hand.
In reality, Zhou Yang had studied Chinese medicine since childhood and was very familiar with the human body’s acupoints and joints. In a fight, he only needed to strike these points or joints to instantly neutralize his opponent’s fighting ability.
“Mom, get him to fix my arm!” Xie Feng looked at his deformed arm and felt the severe pain in his abdomen, panic rising in his heart as he quickly pleaded with Tang Yumei.
Zhou Yang didn’t want to make things difficult for Tang Yumei. He stepped forward, lifting Xie Feng’s arm and pushing it upwards.
With a crisp sound, Xie Feng’s arm was restored.
Holding his belly and still trembling, Xie Feng glared at Zhou Yang and angrily said to Tang Yumei, “I’m going to find my dad. I’ll have him deal with you!”
He grabbed Lv Wei and hurriedly left.
Tang Yumei sat down at the table, one hand supporting her forehead. Strands of black hair slipped through her fingers, and she looked deeply troubled.
Seeing this, Zhou Yang stepped forward to comfort her. “Children grow up; it’s hard to control them.”
But saying this felt awkward, as he wasn’t much older than Xie Feng himself.
Tang Yumei suddenly raised her head, as if forcing back tears.
The next second, she sniffed, then a beautiful smile curved her lips. “Enough. Zhou Yang, tonight you’ll drink with me. No one goes to their room until they’re drunk!”
“Alright!”
