Lu Wei sneered and repeated herself: "Can't you hear clearly? I said, the one I like is still Zhou Yang!"

"Damn it!"

Xie Feng slammed a slap across Lu Wei's face.

In that instant, it felt as though his dignity had been crushed by Lu Wei. The sense of superiority he held when facing Zhou Yang vanished completely.

Consumed by shame and rage, he grabbed Lu Wei and demanded furiously, "Are you doing this just to spite me? Are you?"

"I'm telling the truth!" Lu Wei appeared incredibly calm at that moment. "Xie Feng, I'm not afraid to tell you: while we were seeing each other, I even slept with Zhou Yang!"

"What?"

Xie Feng felt as if he had been struck by lightning; he was left completely stunned.

"You're lying!" Xie Feng shook his head, as if trying to comfort himself. "You've been living with me this whole time. If you were cheating, I would have found out. You're just lying to me, trying to make me mad."

"I have no reason to try and spite you," Lu Wei said calmly. "Do you remember the morning I went to report to headquarters? I went to Zhou Yang's rental apartment while you waited for me in the car downstairs!"

Xie Feng recalled that day and suddenly shivered.

While waiting in the car, he had heard sounds coming from upstairs that Lu Wei never made with him. He had been puzzled at the time, thinking they were arguing.

But those sounds were different from an argument.

Xie Feng had been too arrogant to pay it any mind. Now, thinking back on it, his scalp felt like it was about to explode.

Lu Wei continued: "That morning, in Zhou Yang's apartment, it was amazing! He wore me out until I was falling apart, and we could see you in the car downstairs through the curtains. Do you know what that felt like? It was so thrilling!"

"I'll kill you, you bitch!"

Xie Feng grabbed Lu Wei by the hair and moved to drag her toward the kitchen, where the knives were kept.

Lu Wei grabbed his other arm and bit down on it with all her might.

"Argh!"

Xie Feng cried out in pain and let her go.

Lu Wei seized the chance to shove him away. Having been drained by wine and women the night before, Xie Feng was already unsteady on his feet; the push sent him sprawling onto the sofa.

Lu Wei grabbed her phone and ran out the door.

"Lu Wei, you bitch, come back!" Xie Feng tried to steady himself, but he couldn't catch her. He cursed furiously, "You filthy slut, I won't let you get away with this!"

Monday’s weather was beautiful, with light clouds, a gentle breeze, and a cooler temperature.

Zhou Yang was in a great mood because he had officially closed a deal today. It was his first client since joining the City Sales Department, and that client was none other than the Sanxing Group.

Last week, Zhou Yang and Chen Xue had met with the chairman of Sanxing. Unexpectedly, the chairman hadn't asked much about the business side of things; instead, he had engaged Zhou Yang in a discussion about Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The chairman had noticed Zhou Yang’s knowledge of TCM during their meeting and happened to be an enthusiast himself.

The two hit it off immediately, talking from afternoon into the evening, and Chairman Wei Changxing even invited Zhou Yang to his home for dinner. Chen Xue had served no real purpose other than acting as Zhou Yang’s driver.

Wei Changxing had praised Zhou Yang’s character and medical skill, and they became close friends despite the age gap. With this connection, the Sanxing Group’s business naturally fell to Zhou Yang.

After a few days of negotiations, Sanxing Group readily signed a partnership agreement, with an estimated annual order volume from EPS reaching over a billion.

With this single deal, Zhou Yang had single-handedly completed the entire department’s new performance quota for the third quarter. Now, the team only needed to focus on deepening relationships with existing clients.

This took a significant load off Su Jing’s shoulders.

"Our sales team has always measured success by performance," Su Jing said, looking radiant. "Zhou Yang has now signed Sanxing, making him the top performer among this year's new hires."

She beckoned to him. "Zhou Yang, your seating needs to be adjusted. Move to the desk next to my office."

"Understood, Director Su!"

Zhou Yang happily organized his files and prepared to "move."

In the City Sales Department, seating was significant. Although everyone sat in a large open-plan office, the order and placement were dictated by performance. Low-performing sales staff and newcomers had to sit near the entrance. The better the performance, the further inside one sat, with the innermost area being Su Jing’s office.

Therefore, the seat closest to her office was reserved for the highest performer. It had previously been held by Liu Yan. Now, Zhou Yang was moving there, and Liu Yan had to pack his things and move to the middle.

The other colleagues noticed this and became increasingly polite to Zhou Yang. Everyone understood that whoever sat in that spot was a favorite in Su Jing’s eyes.

For Su Jing, whoever brought in the results was her most valuable asset. She hadn't liked Zhou Yang at first, assuming he was a product of nepotism with no real talent.

Now, however, her impression of him had changed drastically.

In Su Jing’s eyes, there was no bias—only the recognition of ability. The "last-place elimination" policy she had once reinstated for Zhou Yang now loomed over someone else entirely.

In the evening, when he returned home from work, Tang Yumei was already waiting for him in the lobby.

"Sister Mei, how come you're back so early today?"

Tang Yumei had been busy expanding overseas operations lately, often staying in meetings until late at night. Today, she had returned unusually early.

"I’m taking you to meet an old friend tonight," Tang Yumei said. "You’ve met them before."

"Who is it?"

"You'll see when we get there," she replied.

Zhou Yang changed his clothes and followed Tang Yumei into the courtyard.

"You're driving tonight," Tang Yumei said.

"Ah? My driving skills are mediocre. I’m afraid I might scratch your sports car," Zhou Yang said.

"Drive your own car."

"My car?" Zhou Yang was stunned.

Tang Yumei pointed toward a corner of the villa’s courtyard. "Your car is over there."

Zhou Yang looked over and saw a car covered by a tarp in the corner.

"Sister Mei!" A surge of joy flashed through Zhou Yang’s heart.

"You helped me so much; this is my gift to you," Tang Yumei said, pulling out the car keys and placing them in his hand. "Go take a look!"

Zhou Yang glanced down at the key—it was a Cadillac. He stepped forward and pulled off the cover to reveal a brand-new white ATS. This imported model cost around 500,000 in the current market.

Tang Yumei walked up with a smile and asked, "Do you like it?"

"I love it!" Zhou Yang looked it over excitedly, sighing, "Sister Mei, you’re too generous. How can I accept this?"

"You deserve it," Tang Yumei said. "I chose a Cadillac for you because it retains distinct, sharp lines and a rugged style. A man should be as angular and strong as this car."

Zhou Yang nodded, no longer refusing. "Thank you, Sister Mei. Whenever I drive this car, I’ll remind myself to be a tough man."

"Hahaha!" Tang Yumei laughed. "Let's go. Drive me to see that old friend!"
