“Zhou Yang, I know this place well, so I’ll just order the dishes directly!” Su Jing said hurriedly.

“Okay!”

After Su Jing placed the order, she started chatting with Zhou Yang.

“I heard you’re dating a girl from the administration department?” Su Jing asked.

“Huh? No, I’m not!” Zhou Yang replied.

“It’s off work now, and there’s no boss-subordinate relationship between us, so we can speak freely,” Su Jing said.

In fact, it was Lu Wei who had been spreading rumors that she and Zhou Yang were a couple.

This matter reached Su Jing’s ears, but Zhou Yang usually didn’t care about his subordinates’ private affairs. They just happened to be having dinner together today, and since there wasn’t much to talk about, she asked a bit more.

“I have nothing to hide,” Zhou Yang said. “Lu Wei from the administration department and I were indeed a couple once, but we broke up later.”

“Oh!” Su Jing nodded. “Then how did you get to know those people from society?”

“That was a coincidence.”

Zhou Yang recounted the day he met a client and later helped Qiao Youliang stop his bleeding.

Recalling the time when Zhou Yang helped her with acupressure for menstrual pain, Su Jing felt a little moved. “Your medical skills are so good, you could totally be a doctor. Why sales?”

Zhou Yang smiled faintly. “For my dream.”

“Dream?” Su Jing was puzzled.

Zhou Yang said, “Being a doctor can only save a few people, but if I can stand on a high enough mountain and promote what’s been passed down in my family, I can save the whole world.”

At that moment, an indelible light shone in Zhou Yang’s eyes, causing Su Jing’s heart to flutter.

This guy, a little bit idealistic!

However, in today’s society, there are too few young people with such thoughts and ambitions.

Zhou Yang’s innocence and dreams deserved praise.

Thus, Su Jing gained a new understanding of Zhou Yang.

Just then, the dishes arrived, and they ate and chatted.

“Tastes good!” Zhou Yang praised.

Su Jing smiled, “Of course, I don’t have time to cook after work, so I come here to eat.”

“President Su, it has to be you—such discerning taste and good judgment!” Zhou Yang complimented.

Women naturally love compliments, and even a strong woman like Su Jing felt a wave of comfort.

“President Su, I just heard from the owner that you’re still single!” Zhou Yang said. “You're such an outstanding woman; how come you’re still single? That’s unreasonable!”

“I’m talking about you, why bring me into this?” Su Jing said coldly.

“Ah, I’m done talking about myself, now it’s your turn!” Zhou Yang said.

“You ask too many questions!”

“Come on, tell me!”

“Shut up and eat!”

“It’s unfair!” Zhou Yang put down his chopsticks, fuming. “You said it was off work, now you’re putting on a boss’s attitude—saying one thing and doing another!”

“You...” Su Jing frowned, then sighed after a while. “I have a fiancé.”

“Ah?” Zhou Yang looked surprised.

“But I don’t like him!” Su Jing said. “I moved out to live alone just to avoid him.”

“If you don’t like him, then break up!” Zhou Yang said.

“We never dated, so how can I break up?” Su Jing said. “My fiancé is a group CEO, arranged by my family.”

“I see!” Zhou Yang sighed. “Sure enough, for such an excellent woman like you, only a CEO-level man can match.”

“I don’t care about that!” Su Jing said. “Money and affection are two different things. I’ve been out on my own these years to prove to my family that I can earn enough and don’t need to marry some CEO.”

Zhou Yang nodded. “If my girlfriend had thought like you, we wouldn’t have broken up!”

That remark was ambiguous, linking Su Jing to his ex-girlfriend and subtly bringing their identities closer.

Su Jing said, “Enough about that, let’s eat!”

After the meal, Zhou Yang wanted to see Su Jing home, but she smiled and said, “No need, my rented place is in this community. I’m heading back. Don’t be late for work tomorrow!”

Su Jing reverted to her aloof director demeanor; the warm girl-next-door image was gone.

Zhou Yang sighed, “Alright, President Su, I’m off!”

“Zhou Yang!” Su Jing suddenly called out as Zhou Yang was opening the car door.

“What is it, President Su?” Zhou Yang stopped and looked at her.

“Thank you for today!” Su Jing said, then quickly turned away, her face burning with embarrassment, fearing Zhou Yang would see.

“You’re welcome, President Su. You’re my boss, it’s my duty!” Zhou Yang barely finished when Su Jing had already entered the community.

“Sigh, has President Su always been this decisive?” Zhou Yang got into the car and left.

Back at the villa, Tang Yumei sat dazed in the spacious living room.

“Sister Mei, why aren’t you asleep yet?” Zhou Yang asked.

“What happened to your head?” Tang Yumei hurried over when she saw Zhou Yang return.

“Oh, nothing. I bumped into something when I met a client today,” Zhou Yang said.

“How careless!” Tang Yumei said, worried.

“Sister Mei, it’s almost eleven. Why aren’t you sleeping?” Zhou Yang changed into slippers and sat with Tang Yumei on the sofa. “Do you have something on your mind?”

“Not exactly something on my mind,” Tang Yumei smiled weakly, then looked at Zhou Yang sincerely. “I’m going to the United States next week.”

“Ah?”

Zhou Yang’s expression froze.

Although Tang Yumei had mentioned it before, hearing the news still startled him.

“Sister Mei, why so soon?” Zhou Yang asked.

“The North American market expansion is starting; I need to devote myself fully and can’t delay any longer,” Tang Yumei said. “Actually, I should have gone this week.”

“Then why...” Zhou Yang asked.

“I haven’t given you your gift yet!”

Tang Yumei looked at Zhou Yang with tender eyes, her gaze as gentle and moving as spring water.

Zhou Yang shivered. “Sister Mei actually delayed going to North America for me?”

“Sister Mei!” Zhou Yang choked up, thinking about this gentle older sister suddenly disappearing from his life, not knowing when they would meet again, his heart ached.

“Sister Mei, don’t let me hold you back!” Zhou Yang tried to ease the mood. “You can give me the gift anytime. Your career is more important.”

“No, I have to give you the gift before I leave!”

Saying that, Tang Yumei stood up, took Zhou Yang’s hand, and asked with loving eyes, “Zhou Yang, you like me, don’t you?”

“Yeah!” Zhou Yang nodded.

To say he didn’t like her would be a lie. Tang Yumei was a charming mature woman with the innocent freshness of a young girl — a true heartbreaker for a young man.

The two shared a passionate kiss in the bathroom, proving their mutual feelings.

“Do you want me, then?”

Tang Yumei asked softly, wrapping her fair arms around Zhou Yang’s neck.

Zhou Yang’s heart skipped a beat.

It had finally come! He guessed Tang Yumei wanted to give herself to him.

But hearing her say it out loud still stirred a storm of emotions inside him.

“What, you don’t want to?” Tang Yumei looked at Zhou Yang eagerly.

“It’s not that I don’t want to,” Zhou Yang said, “but are we right for each other?”

“I’m divorced and single. You don’t have a girlfriend. Is there anything wrong with love between a man and a woman? The law and morality allow it, don’t they?” Tang Yumei said, grabbing Zhou Yang’s wrist and guiding his hand to her waist. “Hold me tight!”
