Chapter 53: Bo Tsai's Big Brother
Some people cling to life and fear death, while others truly do not fear it.
Bozai and Liu Yu were two stark examples.
Bozai could be easily frightened into betraying his boss.
Faced with Cao Yang's death threat, Liu Yu not only refused to betray his boss, but even dared to curse at Cao Yang.
One had to admit that the subordinates recruited by these bosses were of quite high quality. Putting aside their abilities, most of them were flawless when it came to loyalty and brotherhood.
"Fuck your mother!" Cao Yang slapped him hard across the face, then ordered Bozai to tie up his boss.
Bozai had no choice but to obey, treating him to a Japanese-style beating amid a torrent of Liu Yu's curses.
From underneath Liu Yu's pillow, Cao Yang fished out a handgun, a dagger, and his mobile phone.
The gun was loaded, and Cao Yang toyed with it.
He had originally snatched a gun from Iron Bear, but he left it behind when he planned to take the train, temporarily placing it in Lightning's hands.
He pointed the gun at Liu Yu's forehead. "Speak! Where does Liu Zhenhu live, or I'll blow your brains out right now!"
"Bah! Talk to your mother's ass!" Liu Yu was tough and had no fear of death at all.
Cao Yang smashed the butt of the gun against Liu Yu's forehead, instantly drawing a stream of blood that stained half his face red.
"I'll give you one last chance. Are you going to talk or not?"
"I told you, my boss is in your mother's bed!"
"You're asking for it!" Cao Yang plunged the dagger directly into Liu Yu's stomach.
Liu Yu let out a muffled groan, his eyes still glaring fiercely at Cao Yang. He was undoubtedly swearing in his heart that if he survived, he would definitely slaughter him.
Cao Yang opened Liu Yu's phone and began checking the contacts.
Mobile phones back then did not have password protection, so anyone holding one could use it.
He quickly found Liu Zhenhu's number and pondered how to lure him out.
Seeming to lack any good excuses, he simply sent him a mysterious text message.
"Brother Hu, come over to my place for a moment. There's something I need to tell you."
With the message sent, he cradled the phone and waited for a reply. If the man actually came, he would treat him to some bullets.
Inside a luxury villa, Liu Zhenhu was lounging by the swimming pool, sipping red wine while two hot-bodied women soaked in the water.
He frowned as he looked at the text message sent by Liu Yu. Liu Yu practically never sent him text messages; whenever there was anything to discuss, he always called.
"What is it?" he replied in an inquiry.
Seeing the reply come in, Cao Yang perked up and typed back: "It's a very important matter. It's inconvenient to talk on the phone, so hurry up and come over."
"What could possibly be inconvenient between you and me?"
Without another word, Liu Zhenhu called him directly.
Cao Yang hung up, preparing to edit another text message to keep stalling.
Liu Zhenhu called again.
Cao Yang hung up once more.
Liu Zhenhu sensed something was amiss. Liu Yu would never dare to hang up on his calls; he would answer even if he was in the middle of having sex.
Recalling the abnormal behavior of suddenly sending a text message, he suspected that something had happened to Liu Yu and that someone else was using his phone to communicate with him.
He waved over a subordinate and instructed, "Gather some men, grab your gear, and go to Liu Yu's place. Something might have happened to him."
After giving orders to his subordinate, he called again to confirm.
Having hung up on him twice, Cao Yang also figured that the other party must have grown suspicious. Seeing the phone ring yet again, he knew he couldn't hang up this time.
He pulled the knife out of Liu Yu's stomach and held it against his neck. "I hope you cooperate with me, or I really will slice your throat open."
With that, Cao Yang pressed the answer button and held the phone to Liu Yu's ear.
"Boss! Cao Yang is here at my place! He—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Cao Yang stabbed him in the ribs with the knife.
Cao Yang was utterly infuriated; this bastard genuinely didn't care about his life!
"Ah...!" Liu Yu let out a miserable shriek, then glared at Cao Yang with bloodshot, vicious eyes.
On the other end of the line, Liu Zhenhu was shocked. He stood up, changed his clothes, rallied his men, and rushed without stopping toward Liu Yu's residence.
Liu Yu was one of his most loyal subordinates, and nothing must happen to him.
This punk Cao Yang had shown his face again, and this time he was actually fighting back. He had to kill him today!
"Fuck your mother! Fuck your mother! Fuck your mother!"
Seething with rage, Cao Yang rained slap after slap across Liu Yu's face.
"Brother, let's get out of here quickly. Boss Hu is going to bring people here any minute now."
Bozai reminded him from the side; if he hadn't been covered by the gun, he would have fled long ago.
Cao Yang knew it was time to leave too, but he had to finish off Liu Yu before going. He admired such loyal people, but since that loyalty wasn't directed at him, the man had to die immediately!
Just as he was about to strike, a thought crossed his mind, and he tossed the dagger to Bozai.
"You kill him!" He pointed the gun at Bozai and ordered him to murder Liu Yu.
"I-I-I... I don't dare! I've never killed anyone!"
Bozai trembled all over with fright. He had never killed anyone in his life. Although he usually bragged about how many people he had hacked to death, in reality, he had never even slashed a soul—he was just a low-level punk in the Henan gang.
"Bang!" A gunshot rang out.
Cao Yang pulled the trigger, sending a bullet kicking up dust right beside Bozai's feet, scaring him into hugging his head and shaking violently.
"Within ten seconds, if you don't kill him, I'll kill you!"
"I have limited time right now, so don't test my patience!"
"I-I-I..." Trembling, Bozai picked up the dagger and looked at Cao Yang. "If I kill him, will you let me go?"
"I will. Hurry up! I keep my word!"
Bozai looked at Liu Yu. The boss he followed had always commanded his utmost reverence, and now that he had to kill him, he truly couldn't bring himself to do it.
Meanwhile, Liu Yu was on the verge of death, gazing at Bozai covered in blood, a fierce and ruthless glint flashing in his eyes.
Seeing that look, Bozai knew he had no choice left. If he didn't kill Liu Yu, and Liu Yu somehow managed to survive, Liu Yu would definitely kill him.
"Brother Yu, I'm sorry!"
"Ah!" Bozai suddenly let out a loud roar, lunging forward to stab Liu Yu's neck wildly a dozen times in a frenzied flurry.
"Enough, enough." Seeing that Bozai was about to saw Liu Yu's head completely off, Cao Yang called a halt.
"Boss, can you let me go now?" Bozai collapsed, sitting limply on the ground as he looked at Cao Yang, only to find that Cao Yang was using his mobile phone to take pictures—the entire scene of him murdering Liu Yu had just been captured on camera.
"Boss, what do you mean by this?"
Without answering, Cao Yang turned and walked out of the building. Bozai hurriedly scrambled to follow; if he stayed behind a moment longer, he wouldn't be able to leave at all.
After the two had walked a long distance, Bozai stopped in his tracks, panting heavily. He simply could not walk another step.
There was a sweet soup shop nearby, and Cao Yang went in to order two bowls of sweet soup.
Bozai picked his up and gulped it down in one breath.
"Boss, can I go now?"
Cao Yang flashed a smile and asked, "Where are you planning to go?"
"I... I plan to go back home to farm and stop hanging out in the streets."
Cao Yang shook his head. "That won't work. You're from Henan, and Liu Zhenhu is also from Henan. Even if you run back to your hometown, he won't let you off."
Bozai was stunned. "Why?"
"Because you killed Liu Yu. Do you think he'd let you go?"
"But... but..." Bozai stuttered "but" for a long time without managing to cough up any reason.
Cao Yang pulled out his phone, flipped to the photos he had just taken, and showed them to him.
"If I send these pictures to Liu Zhenhu, won't he know?"
"Boss, what on earth do you want? If you want me to die, just kill me outright. Stop torturing me like this."
Bozai's emotions completely collapsed.
Cao Yang burst out laughing. "Why would I kill you? I don't want you to die either. In fact, I can lead you to a good life!"
Bozai was taken aback, then asked tentatively, "You want me to follow you?"
Cao Yang rolled his eyes. He had no use for someone like Bozai, who was cowardly, disloyal, and utterly incompetent.
