Chapter Forty-One: I Do Not Know Him

Lin Hao completely lost his composure on the spot. He stood there dumbfounded, not even having time to react.
Plop!
Ninth Lord stuck out his rear and dropped another load.
It was golden and steaming, white vapor curling from it.
“Holy shit.”
The sight was simply too beautiful for words. Lin Hao genuinely had no idea how to describe what he was seeing.
The mule kept its head down and continued devouring the spiritual herbs, eating as it defecated.
Soon, droppings were scattered everywhere.
A pungent stench began to spread throughout the entire medicine garden.
Lin Hao’s brows knitted tightly together. His blood and energy churned violently in his chest, leaving him indescribably uncomfortable. He even felt faintly nauseated.
The mule kept eating and kept defecating!
Lin Hao was utterly speechless. How could such a creature exist in this world?
“What a prodigy.” Lin Hao sighed. “What a freak.”
He had eaten some of the spiritual herbs earlier, and the energy within his body was nearly running wild. He circulated his Supreme Divine Vein, accelerating the refinement of that energy, and his cultivation surged straight toward the fifth level of the Qi Sea Realm.
“As expected of a natural medicine garden. The medicinal power is truly formidable. That short mule can really eat. At this rate, he’ll chew through an entire section of the garden. Isn’t he afraid of bursting?”
Lin Hao was speechless. Enduring his nausea, he began picking other spiritual herbs and placing them into his Heaven-and-Earth Ring.
Good things could not all end up belonging to that mule.
After all, the beast had just tricked him out of a million.
“Could he really be the legendary Heaven-Swallowing Divine Horse? Maybe he wasn’t bragging after all.”
Lin Hao muttered inwardly. The mule’s bloodline was certainly extraordinary. What normal person could eat like this?
Boom!
At last, through their combined efforts, the Ling Clan disciples tore open a gap in the restriction outside the medicine garden.
A crowd streamed inside and began frantically snatching the spiritual herbs.
“Damn it, why is this entire row completely bare? Did someone get in here ahead of us?”
Someone cursed. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of people had rushed into the medicine garden.
“Look! What’s that?”
A disciple stared at a golden lump on the ground ahead, his eyes shining.
“It’s the legendary Golden Sacred Medicine! I can feel incomparably pure energy surging from it, and it’s even steaming!”
“Grab it!”
One person moved with astonishing speed. He dashed forward, scooped up the Golden Sacred Medicine from the ground, opened his huge mouth, and bit into it on the spot.
“Look, there’s more ahead! So much Golden Sacred Medicine!”
“Hahaha, we’ve struck it rich! They say the Golden Sacred Medicine can revive the dead and regenerate flesh from white bones. It can bring about the greatest transformation in a person’s very essence.”

“Take it! The Golden Sacred Medicine is a blessing bestowed by Heaven. Whoever obtains it possesses great fortune!”
…
Many people discovered the Golden Sacred Medicine and began fighting wildly over it. Three or five people would scramble for a single lump, each grabbing a handful and stuffing it into their mouths.
“Why does the Golden Sacred Medicine taste so strange?”
“It’s bitter, with a fishy flavor. It even scratches the throat a little, but the energy is incredibly rich.”
“They told you it was medicine. Did you think you were eating candy?”
“That’s right. This is exactly what Golden Sacred Medicine tastes like. I’ve read about it in the records.”
…
The Ling Clan disciples had gone completely mad. To them, this medicine garden was simply inconceivable.
A natural medicine garden of such scale would be enough to drive even disciples of the Essence Transformation Realm into a frenzy.
For disciples of the Qi Sea Realm, this was practically a blessing from Heaven itself. They had to seize as much as possible, and quickly.
One person had eaten until his mouth was coated in gold and was strutting about smugly when he suddenly looked up and saw a large rear end in front of him.
With a plop, another lump of Golden Sacred Medicine dropped to the ground.
Several disciples witnessed the scene simultaneously.
Time seemed to freeze.
More and more people saw what had happened.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
They stood rooted to the spot, not moving an inch.
A moment later—
“Urgh…”
A mass vomiting incident erupted in the medicine garden. Groups of Ling Clan disciples began vomiting violently, bringing up even the food they had eaten the previous night and turning the entire garden into a complete mess.
“Ah… just kill me.”
“Fuck… urgh…”
“Damn you… urgh! Heaven-sent bastard! Kill that short mule!”
“Damn your Golden Sacred Medicine! I can’t go on living! My lifelong reputation is ruined! Fuck… urgh…”
…
The enormous medicine garden descended into chaos. The Ling Clan disciples collapsed completely, both physically and mentally.
They could not accept reality. Some still had Golden Sacred Medicine clutched in their hands, ready to put it into their mouths, and nearly fainted on the spot.
“Hahahaha…”
Lin Hao watched everything unfold and burst into laughter. He laughed so hard that his stomach cramped and tears streamed from his eyes.
“Damn it, what are you laughing at?” someone roared, pointing at Lin Hao’s nose.
“Senior brothers, I know laughing like this is very impolite, but I can’t help it. Hahahaha…”
Lin Hao could barely stand from laughing. One hand clutched his stomach while the other braced against a nearby spiritual herb tree.

Who could possibly hold it in? Even the best self-control would have failed.
Ninth Lord turned around, bared a mouthful of large white teeth, and let out a classic mule’s bray.
At the same time, Ninth Lord finally could not hold it in any longer. He unleashed another explosive barrage of droppings.
“Damn it, surround them! Especially that mule!”
“They got in here before us. They must have practically cleared the place out!”
“Make them pay for what we ate… urgh! Kill him! Skin him alive!”
The Ling Clan disciples flew into a rage. With a clatter, they surrounded Lin Hao and Ninth Lord.
A young man at the peak of the Qi Sea Realm had not eaten any Golden Sacred Medicine, and he was still able to remain calm. His gaze settled on Lin Hao as he demanded sternly, “What’s your name? You look unfamiliar. Why are you with this mule?”
“Damn you! Your whole family are mules!”
Ninth Lord immediately began cursing.
“I’m not with him. I don’t know him.”
Lin Hao hurriedly waved his hands. “This mule is utterly vicious. He produced all that Golden Sacred Medicine for you to eat. You absolutely must not let him off!”
Ninth Lord froze, staring at Lin Hao in disbelief. Clearly, he had never expected Lin Hao to say something like that at a moment such as this.
“Very good, very good. So this is how you want to play with your grandfather, is it?”
Ninth Lord ground his teeth furiously.
“Kill him! Tear this mule limb from limb!”
The Ling Clan disciples went completely berserk. They drew their swords and blades, striking toward Ninth Lord’s head in unison.
Judging by their appearance, even reducing the mule to minced meat would not be enough to vent their hatred.
The energy within Ninth Lord’s body was running wild. He had no desire to fight; he only wanted to find somewhere to refine the medicinal power.
He leaped into the air. His golden hooves were no less formidable than divine weapons, and with a kick he sent a group of disciples flying before bounding toward the outside of the medicine garden.
Even then, Ninth Lord did not forget to relieve himself. From above, he sprayed several Ling Clan disciples in the face, on the head, and everywhere else, nearly turning them into golden men.
That damned mule even left one final loose load behind as he departed.
“Stop him! Don’t let him escape!”
More than a dozen experts at the peak of the Qi Sea Realm attacked at once. One of them produced a formation diagram, which spread through the air and descended toward Ninth Lord.
Whoosh!
Ninth Lord moved like lightning, swift as thunder. His body flashed, and he vanished with effortless grace.
When they realized they could not catch him, the Ling Clan disciples turned their attention directly to Lin Hao, the unfamiliar newcomer.
They had suffered the humiliation of a lifetime and desperately needed an outlet for their rage.
And this fellow before them had laughed the loudest just now!
