Chapter 32 We Will Help You Hunt the Demonic Beasts

Although the beast tide had retreated, there were still several times more demon beasts lingering in the area than before.
Most of them had clearly suffered injuries of varying severity. Unable to keep up with the main force of the beast tide, they had been left behind after it withdrew.
At the sight of those demon beasts, Qin Lang, Qin Jian, and Qin Yue exchanged glances, excitement shining in all their eyes.
Surviving a great calamity often brought good fortune afterward!
These wounded demon beasts would be much easier to kill. Their hunting efficiency would naturally be far higher, allowing them to earn even more trial points!
“I have a hundred and ninety-eight points now. Making it into the top one hundred should be no problem,” Qin Jian said first.
“I have two hundred and twenty-one points,” Qin Yue added. “That should be enough! Of the three of us, Lang is the weakest. From now on, we’ll work together to help him hunt demon beasts so that he can earn enough points to enter the sect!”
“Good!” Qin Jian nodded.
“Lang, do you have fifty points yet?” Qin Yue asked.
She estimated that the three of them should have no trouble killing twenty demon beasts a day. Over seven days, they could earn roughly another hundred and fifty points. If Qin Lang already had fifty points, his final score would be close to theirs, which would be enough to place him in the top one hundred and enter the sect for cultivation.
But if Qin Lang did not even have fifty points, his chances of making it into the top one hundred would be rather slim.
“Fifty points?”
Qin Lang let out a helpless laugh. Did he really look that weak? How could they be judging him by such a low standard?
“Here, this is my wristband. You can check the points yourselves!”
Afraid that Qin Yue and Qin Jian would not believe him if he simply told them, Qin Lang extended his arm toward them.
Yet in Qin Yue and Qin Jian’s eyes, his gesture was clearly an expression of insecurity. Qin Lang’s score must have been so low that he was embarrassed to say it aloud.
“It’s all right, Qin Lang. Even if you don’t have fifty points, there’s nothing to be ashamed of!”
Qin Jian waved his hand and comforted him with a smile. But the moment his gaze fell upon Qin Lang’s wristband, he froze completely.
“Exactly! Even if you don’t have fifty points, it doesn’t matter. At worst, Qin Jian and I will work harder and help you hunt more demon beasts!”
Qin Yue patted Qin Lang on the shoulder before glancing at his wristband as well. The instant she saw the number displayed there, an incredulous look appeared in her beautiful eyes. Her small mouth fell open in an O, wide enough to swallow a duck egg.
“Three hundred and fifty-four!”
“Three hundred and fifty-four!”
Qin Yue and Qin Jian cried out the same astonishing number at once. They looked at each other, disbelief filling their eyes.
Qin Lang had actually accumulated so many points!
Nearly twice as many as they had!
How was that possible?
If Qin Lang’s name had not been displayed on the wristband, they would have thought he had found it somewhere and taken it for himself.

“It must be Ye Keqing who helped you hunt demon beasts during these twenty days. That’s the only way you could have earned so many points, right?”
Qin Yue’s eyes shifted as she instantly thought of an explanation. With Ye Keqing’s strength as a first-level martial artist, she truly could have helped Qin Lang obtain so many points.
Qin Jian nodded from the side. At present, that was the only reasonable explanation for Qin Lang’s astonishing score.
“Ye Keqing?” Qin Lang sneered. “We split up on the very first day we entered Skywind Mountain.”
“These points were indeed earned by me hunting demon beasts myself.” Afraid that Qin Yue and Qin Jian would continue making wild guesses, Qin Lang went on, “My actual cultivation is at the peak of the ninth level of Martial Disciple, not the seventh level that everyone rumored before. So earning these points wasn’t difficult.”
“What? You’ve actually reached the peak of the ninth level of Martial Disciple!”
Qin Lang’s explanation only left Qin Yue and Qin Jian even more shocked. The two of them stared at him as though he were some kind of monster.
In just half a year, he had advanced from the first level of Martial Disciple to the peak of the ninth level!
That was far too monstrous!
Even the prodigies from the powerful clans of the Vertical and Horizontal Empire could not cultivate at such an astonishing speed.
Seeing the shock and suspicion in their eyes, Qin Lang smiled faintly. With a single leap, he arrived beside a first-level demon beast—a giant-toothed wolf that was cautiously prowling nearby. Bringing his fingers together like a blade, he channeled spiritual power into them and struck with a slash as swift as lightning!
“Splurt!”
The giant-toothed wolf had only just reacted and had no time to flee before it was cleaved in two, its body separated from its head.
With a single move, a first-level demon beast comparable to a seventh-level Martial Disciple had been killed instantly!
“Hiss!”
“Hiss!”
Qin Yue and Qin Jian simultaneously sucked in a cold breath, their eyes filled with shock.
There was no doubt that Qin Lang’s demonstrated combat strength belonged to a powerful cultivator at the peak of the ninth level of Martial Disciple.
“When we were at the Martial Arts Pavilion, Qin Lang was only at the fourth level of Martial Disciple. I never imagined that in just a few short months, his strength would rise all the way to the peak of the ninth level!”
Qin Yue’s lips parted slightly as she murmured to herself. If she had not witnessed Qin Lang’s terrifying cultivation speed with her own eyes, she would never have believed it.
“A few months ago, Qin Lang could barely withstand even one of my palms. I never expected that he would become stronger than me now!”
The shock in Qin Jian’s heart was no less than Qin Yue’s. A self-mocking smile even touched the corner of his mouth. He was only at the mid-stage of the ninth level of Martial Disciple, and Qin Lang had already surpassed him completely.
“Little Brother Lang, I’m teaming up with you! Come on, help me hunt demon beasts. My goal is to exceed four hundred points by the end of the trial competition!”
A glimmer of excitement flashed through her beautiful eyes as Qin Yue ran toward Qin Lang with a beaming smile.
“Uh…”
Qin Jian wore an awkward expression. Just moments ago, they had been talking about helping Qin Lang hunt demon beasts, yet now Qin Yue was asking Qin Lang to help her instead. She had changed sides far too quickly.
As expected, women were all alike. They could turn against you faster than one could turn a page.
“Big Sister Yue, as a girl, you should know how to be modest, understand?” Qin Jian looked at Qin Yue with righteous solemnity. Then he turned to Qin Lang with a fawning smile. “Qin Lang, you should help me hunt demon beasts instead. I’m a man, so I have thicker skin. I don’t care what anyone says!”
Qin Lang: “…”

Qin Yue: “…”
Time flew by, and seven days passed in the blink of an eye.
Somewhere in Skywind Mountain.
“Splurt!”
As the anguished howl of a demon beast rang out, blood sprayed through the air, and its enormous body crashed heavily to the ground.
“Ding!”
A faint strand of demonic energy entered the wristband around the young man’s arm. The number displayed on it changed from “seven hundred and fifty-one” to “seven hundred and fifty-two.”
The young man was none other than Qin Lang.
“Haha, hunting demon beasts with Qin Lang is incredibly efficient!”
Qin Jian was brimming with excitement, and Qin Yue nodded happily beside him.
Training alongside Qin Lang had finally allowed them to experience what it meant to fight with complete exhilaration.
Qin Lang’s methods were so seasoned that he seemed to know the weaknesses of every demon beast. In battle, he struck directly at their vital points, often killing them with a single blow.
After seven days of frenzied hunting, they could practically kill more than a hundred first-level demon beasts every day.
The rich harvest was something Qin Yue and Qin Jian had never even dared to imagine.
By now, Qin Yue’s wristband displayed a total of five hundred and eighty-seven points.
Qin Jian’s wristband had reached six hundred and fourteen points.
Any one of the three now possessed a score far higher than that of the first-place winner in any previous Skywind Mountain youth trial competition.
“Haha, the top three places in this trial competition belong to our Qin family!”
“If Huang Bo knew that my score was even higher than his, do you think he’d be so depressed that he would cough up blood?”
Qin Yue and Qin Jian were both filled with excitement.
“It’s a pity the trial is over. Otherwise, I’m absolutely certain I could break through to the Martial Warrior realm within a week!”
Unlike Qin Yue and Qin Jian, who were brimming with excitement, Qin Lang felt a trace of regret. Seven days of relentless slaughter had caused the bottleneck at the peak of the ninth level of Martial Disciple to show faint signs of breaking through.
“The time is about up. Let’s leave Skywind Mountain and hurry back before the trial competition ends.”
Qin Lang reminded them. The other two nodded, and the three of them traveled together toward the exit of Skywind Mountain.
“Qin Lang, I’ve made up my mind. When we return this time, I’ll step down and give the position of Qin family heir back to you. Only someone as extraordinarily gifted as you is qualified to become the Qin family’s future successor!”
As they walked, Qin Jian looked at Qin Lang with complete sincerity.
