The old man turned a blind eye to the men groaning in agony all over the floor, and smiled bitterly. "Eldest Miss, it's not that I didn't want to go in, but the moment I reached the doorway, my presence was locked onto by a terrifying aura. I had a strong feeling that the moment I appeared at the threshold, that man would have dealt me a fatal blow. I could sense that he harbored no hostility toward you, which is why I remained outside."

Su Man was startled and exclaimed, "Old Qian, are you talking about Lin Chen? Why would you be afraid of him? Could it be that he's even stronger than you?"

She was well aware that Old Qian was a master of ancient martial arts, standing far above ordinary martial artists in the secular world. Even a dozen elite special forces operatives attacking together would be no match for Old Qian. Yet Lin Chen was barely in his early twenties—how could he possibly be stronger than Old Qian? Even if he had started cultivating from inside his mother's womb, it should still be impossible!

Old Qian said with a solemn expression, "Eldest Miss, whether I can defeat him or not is something we would only know after a real fight, but the feeling he gave me was far too dangerous. I suggest we avoid provoking this person. If he is pushed too far, the consequences will be unimaginable."

Su Man sighed softly. "Old Qian, do you think I have any other choice besides provoking him?"

Old Qian was momentarily stunned. Remembering the Su family's crisis and the Eldest Miss's scumbag fiancé, he offered a bitter smile. "It seems we really have no choice but to provoke him. Let us only hope that he won't truly lose his temper."

"What right does he have to be angry? The stinky man, such a stingy wretch!"

Su Man gritted her teeth in frustration, but then, recalling something, a triumphant smile spread across her face. "You can't run away. We will meet again tonight."

...

As Lin Chen walked home, he suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure ahead, struggling and wrangling with a group of men who looked like street punks.

"Sister Rong?"

Lin Chen was taken aback. The person was none other than Zhang Yuerong, the aunt of the two little peerless lolis.

However, Zhang Yuerong was clearly the traditional, virtuous, and motherly type. How could she possibly be entangled with a group of hooligans?

Looking closer, Lin Chen quickly understood the situation. Zhang Yuerong was drunk—so dizzy and intoxicated that she could barely stand straight.

Drinking in broad daylight and getting this drunk on the street was truly out of character and somewhat bizarre.

Zhang Yuerong forcefully shoved away a greasy-faced punk who was leering and trying to wrap his arms around her waist, snapping angrily, "Jerks, get lost! Get away from me! Who wants to go play with you people? Get lost, all of you!"

The punk let out a lewd chuckle. "Hey now, beauty, don't be so cold-hearted. Drinking yourself into this state in broad daylight—could it be that you're troubled by matters of the heart? Let us brothers take you out to unwind; we guarantee it'll make you forget all your worries."

He winked at the other thugs, and the nearby hooligans broke into lewd grins as well. Two of them lunged forward, grabbing Zhang Yuerong by both wrists.

"Bas... bastards! Let go of me! Let go!"

Zhang Yuerong was already too unsteady on her feet from the alcohol, though she still retained a shred of sobriety. She struggled furiously, but she was firmly pinned and completely unable to shake off the grip of those two men.

"Haha, don't be angry. Let me take you somewhere we can have some real fun."

Greed and lust filled the eyes of the fat-faced punk as he lunged straight toward Zhang Yuerong.

Yet before he had even covered half the distance, a foot slammed directly into his waist, sending him crashing heavily onto the ground with a shrill shriek of agony.

"Damn it! Who the hell do you think you are, sticking your nose into my business? Tired of living, are you?"

Enduring the sharp pain in his waist, the punk scrambled up from the floor, glared at Lin Chen standing before him, and roared furiously.

"Leave the woman and get lost right now." Lin Chen looked somewhat impatient; he really didn't want to waste words on these minor thugs.

"Brat, were your brains caught in a door? You're telling *us* to get lost?" The punk pointed at his own nose, wearing an expression of utter disbelief.

"Get him! Beat the living daylights out of this bastard for me—make sure his own mother won't recognize him! How dare he kick me, he must have a death wish!" With a wave of his hand, several of his underlings smirked and closed in on Lin Chen.

"You idiot, trying to play the hero saving the damsel in distress, huh? I'm going to kill you!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang...

The sneering thugs had just lunged at Lin Chen when, in the very next instant, all of them went flying backward through the air.

"This... how is this possible!" The punk leader was so terrified that he collapsed backward onto the ground, drenched in cold sweat.

He hadn't even clearly registered what had happened before all his subordinates had been sent flying through the air, crashing onto the ground where they lay groaning.

"You... what kind of monster are you?"

Before he could finish his sentence, Lin Chen's icy gaze pierced through him, sending a jolt straight to his heart and making it hard for him to breathe.

Swallowing hard, the punk leader put up a bold front, trembling as he said, "D... don't you get too cocky! You believe me if I call my big brother over? My big brother is a truly ruthless character; if you hit me, he's definitely going to waste you!"

Seeing that Lin Chen remained entirely unfazed, he immediately pulled out his phone and made a call. Then, glaring at Lin Chen with a triumphant look, he said, "You're dead! My big brother is right around here; he's on his way now. How dare you lay a hand on my men, you're utterly ignorant of the immensity of heaven and earth! Ruining my fun—just wait and see how my big brother teaches you a lesson. On this street, my big brother is the local emperor. You're finished!"

Before long, a somewhat familiar figure came into view before Lin Chen.

Gazing at the burly man, Lin Chen couldn't help but chuckle out loud. Truly, he and this fellow had quite a strong bond of fate. Not long ago, this very guy had done him a huge favor, relieving his urgent plight, and now he was delivering himself right to his doorstep again.

The big man had originally worn a furious expression on his face, but upon catching sight of Lin Chen, he froze in place. His face drained of color in an instant, and he spun around, desperately trying to bolt.

The punk leader was stunned and quickly called out, "Brother Hao! Brother Hao! I'm right here, over here! There's a bastard here who beat me up, hurry up and fix him good!"

Hearing those words, the big man only ran faster.

"Stop right there!" Lin Chen commanded.
