Since having two daughters, Chen Xing treated them like precious treasures, handling everything related to the children himself and forbidding anyone else from touching their belongings—not even the housekeeper.

“All right, I’ll call him,” Su Qianxue said, pulling out her phone and immediately dialing Chen Xing’s number.

The message came through: The number you have dialed is out of service.

“Unbelievable!” she exclaimed. “Chen Xing, you bastard! How dare you block my number!”

Her bright, beautiful eyes blazed with fury.

Indeed, her number had been blocked; otherwise, it wouldn’t have shown as out of service.

“You jerk, do you think I can’t take care of Huanhuan without you? Go find the allergy medicine! I refuse to believe you hid it in the sky!”

The housekeeper heard this and rushed into the next room, frantically searching through drawers and cupboards. But after a thorough search, nothing was found.

As her daughter’s condition worsened, Su Qianxue had no choice but to have the housekeeper hold the child and drive them to the children’s hospital overnight.

After emergency treatment, Huanhuan’s allergic reaction was finally brought under control.

The little girl lay on the hospital bed, looking pitiful.

“Mom, can you please not tell Daddy Liang about my allergies? Then he won’t buy me chocolate anymore. Actually, it’s Dad’s fault—he usually doesn’t let me eat chocolate. If I ate more, I wouldn’t be allergic.”

Su Qianxue leaned against the headboard, exhausted. Hearing her daughter mention her father, she couldn’t help but think of Chen Xing, feeling as if a stone were pressing on her chest.

“Chen Xing, you bastard, you blocked my number. Our daughter was allergic, and you didn’t care. Fine, if you have the guts, never come back!”

“When you can’t make it outside and beg me to remarry you, I’ll make you kneel and sing ‘Conquer’ all day and night!”

After finishing the IV drip, it was already one in the morning.

Su Qianxue drove her daughter home, utterly drained. She didn’t even bother to shower, collapsing onto the bed and falling into a deep sleep.

At six in the morning, Su Qianxue was woken by her daughter’s noisy fussing.

Usually, she would sleep until eight-thirty, and by then Chen Xing would have prepared her toothpaste and hot water.

But today, she was woken at six.

Her head felt like it was about to explode.

“Xu Ma, what’s going on?” she shouted.

The housekeeper Xu Ma hurried in. “Miss, I’m sorry. The little lady just woke up and started making a fuss. I couldn’t do anything.”

Su Qianxue frantically ruffled her messy hair, no trace of the composed executive she usually was, nearly shouting, “Make Huanhuan be quiet!”

“Isn’t it just comforting a child? If you can’t even do that, what use are you as a housekeeper?” she barked.

Xu Ma felt wronged. Usually, Chen Xing took care of the two little ladies. Since she arrived at this house, she had never been involved in childcare. It was understandable she couldn’t manage now.

Seeing the mistress lose control, Xu Ma dared not say a word and quietly left with Huanhuan to play downstairs.

Su Qianxue suffered mild insomnia and, once awakened, could not fall back asleep. She decided to get up and go downstairs.

“Xu Ma, prepare breakfast for me. I want an egg and ham sandwich, with New Zealand-imported ham and eggs cooked medium.”

“I want one too! A bacon, cheese, and egg burger!” Huanhuan chimed in.

Xu Ma was stunned, cold sweat breaking out on her forehead.

Usually, Mr. Chen handled all meals for Su Qianxue and the two little ladies. Xu Ma never interfered with the kitchen.

She had never even heard of the dishes they ordered, let alone prepared them.

“Um, Miss, Little Miss, please wait. I’ll call Mr. Chen right now to ask how to make these,” Xu Ma said awkwardly.

Su Qianxue furrowed her brows.

At this moment, she suddenly realized that without Chen Xing, the whole household seemed to fall into chaos.

Unable to sleep and now unable to eat breakfast.

But Su Qianxue refused to admit how important he was.

“Chen Xing, if you have the guts, just never come back! It’s just a divorce—fine, divorce then.”

“When you can’t survive out there and beg me to remarry you, I’ll make you kneel and sing ‘Conquer’ all day and night!”

Achoo!

At the Chen family’s old mansion, Chen Xing was awakened by his biological clock and sneezed heavily.

Glancing at the alarm clock beside the bed, he couldn’t help but smile wryly.

After five years living with the Su family, waking up at this time to care for the children and Su Qianxue had become second nature to him.

Even without an alarm, he would wake at this hour.

Just then, his phone on the bedside table rang.

He picked it up and saw it was housekeeper Xu Ma.

After hesitating, Chen Xing answered.

“Hello, Xu Ma…”

“Mr. Chen, Miss and Little Miss are up. They want egg and ham sandwiches—with New Zealand-imported ham and eggs cooked medium—and the little miss wants a bacon, cheese, and egg burger. I don’t know how to make any of these!” Xu Ma’s voice was trembling with emotion.

Although Chen Xing was the master of the Su family, he was always approachable and never difficult with the staff.

“I’ll send you the recipes right now. Just follow the steps. Also, I’ll send you a list of important notes for Little Miss’s care.”

“Xu Ma, please take good care of Huanhuan from now on.”

“Yes, Mr. Chen. By the way, when do you plan to come back?”

“I’m not coming back.”

“What!” Xu Ma thought she had heard wrong.

Chen Xing said, “Su Qianxue and I are preparing for a divorce. I won’t be involved in Su family affairs anymore. Don’t call this number again.”

Before Xu Ma could respond, Chen Xing hung up.

“Did you get in touch with Chen Xing?” Su Qianxue looked at Xu Ma with a cool, indifferent expression.

Xu Ma nodded. “Yes, I did.”

“What did that bastard say? When is he coming back?”

“Mr. Chen said he wants a divorce and that he won’t be coming back.”

“Pfft!”

Su Qianxue spat out the coffee she had just sipped, eyes wide with disbelief. “He said… he said he’s not coming back?”

“Yes, absolutely. Miss, did you argue with Mr. Chen?”

Xu Ma didn’t know what had happened between them, having been off duty for the girls’ birthday party the day before.

“Mind your own business!” Su Qianxue snapped, glaring at Xu Ma as she clenched her coffee cup tightly, nearly crushing it.

“Not coming back? Hmph, I hope you stick to your word!”

“Chen Xing, can you really live without me?”

When they were together, Chen Xing often held her face and said she was the love of his life, his everything. Now this man wanted to leave her.

Could he really bear it?
