Chapter 106: The Moment I Fell in Love, the Whole World Became My Rival in Love (6)
Fu Huai said, “Go buy me a new toothbrush and cup.”
Bai Yao did not even look at him. “No time.”
Fu Huai said, “I’m not using such junk.”
“Suit yourself.” Bai Yao patted her face and said calmly, “No brushing your teeth, no dinner.”
She meant every word. In her house, she made the rules. Whatever spoiled habits he had, she had no intention of indulging them.
Fu Huai pressed his lips together. Between the blue cup and the pink one, he chose the blue one in her hand.
Bai Yao hurriedly snatched it back. “What are you doing?”
Fu Huai replied matter-of-factly, “Brushing my teeth.”
Bai Yao said, “You are not allowed to use my toothbrush! Don’t you find it disgusting to use someone else’s?”
Fu Huai curved his lips. His smile was cool and malicious. “You exchanged so many bodily fluids with me last night. You clung to me so tightly when you were in my arms; it must have felt wonderful. And now I use your toothbrush for a moment, and suddenly you find that disgusting?”
“Oh?” He reached out and lifted her chin, his fingertips tracing down her neck, gliding over her collarbone, and slipping along the neckline of her dress. Beneath the smiling eyes lurked a greedy hunger. “Do you want me to remind you how, yesterday, you sat in my lap, wrapped your legs tightly around my waist, and bit me without letting go?”
Bai Yao slapped his hand away.
Fu Huai clutched his hand and said pitifully, “That hurts, sister. You’re so mean.”
He made it sound entirely real, his wet eyes as though they might spill tears at any moment.
Bai Yao pulled her undergarment back into place inside her dress and adjusted her collar. Then she gave him a faint glance. “I had been holding back on saying this out of consideration for your pride, but I think I have to say it now.”
Fu Huai was instantly interested. “What?”
Bai Yao said, “Your technique yesterday really regressed a lot. It was awful.”
Fu Huai: “...”
Bai Yao took the most ordinary orange toothbrush from behind the mirror cabinet, the kind bought wholesale, tore open the wrapper, and tossed it to him. “That’s all there is. Use it if you want.”
She picked up her own cup and toothbrush, walked out of the bathroom without looking back, and closed the door behind her.
Sure enough, a hysterical shout came from the other side.
“Bai Yao! Come back here! Let’s do it again! Then you’ll know for sure your feelings were wrong!”
Bai Yao rubbed her ears, and the corners of her lips slowly lifted.
She could not deny it: driving him to the brink of madness really was gratifying.
Fu Huai kept a cold expression, unable to believe that his skill could truly be so poor. He was flawless. There were plenty of people in this world who longed for his kisses and his touch, but those filthy swine and scum only made him feel sick.
He had graciously allowed Bai Yao to obtain something no one else could have. She ought to be weeping with gratitude, ought to be madly devoted to him with a heart full of thanks.
Only now, Bai Yao was holding a pair of chopsticks.
She used them to pick the fat out of the braised pork belly as she said, “If you really aren’t going to eat, then I won’t leave anything for you.”
Fu Huai sat beside her with a dark face, sulking in silence. With his exquisitely beautiful features arranged like this, there was something strangely discordant about him.
Ever since he had come out of the bathroom, he had been pestering Bai Yao, insisting on proving himself. But Bai Yao had no interest and simply refused.
He should never have satisfied this woman so thoroughly yesterday.
She was even more heartless than he was. Once she had gotten her pleasure, she had pulled up her pants and refused to recognize him.
Seeing that Bai Yao really did not try to coax him, and simply started eating on her own, Fu Huai’s lips pressed tighter and tighter. The usual malice and mockery that always seeped from him were gone, and now he truly looked like nothing more than an ordinary young man.
He could turn a tiny triviality into a matter of life and death and drive himself mad over it.
So Bai Yao asked again, “Are you eating or not?”
He answered reluctantly, “I am.”
Bai Yao placed the box of braised pork belly, now stripped down to lean meat, in front of him.
Fu Huai disliked greasy food, and he was finicky about what he ate. Seeing the fat she had picked out, he at least felt a little better and took the chopsticks she handed him with elegant composure.
No one in this world could resist his charm, not even Bai Yao.
She said she did not care about him, but inwardly she clearly did.
Fu Huai lifted his delicate, beautiful face, and that arrogant air in his bones surfaced again. He even stooped to accommodate her, nudging his chair closer until his body was pressed against hers.
Bai Yao pushed him. “How am I supposed to eat with you this close?”
Fu Huai curved his lips, and that grandiose smile was just like the wicked stepmother from a fairy tale. “Ignorant, stupid, clumsy, ungrateful—”
Bai Yao stuffed a meatball into his mouth. “At least eat something good!”
His cutting remark was cut off before he could finish. He had intended to continue mocking her, but the meatball tasted rather good. He closed his mouth and chewed, a trace of delight rising in his captivating eyes.
She did not forget to feed him tasty things, and then she still claimed she did not like him. Who would believe that?
After dinner, Bai Yao returned to her room to pack her things. Fu Huai glared at the several parcels in the living room and was about to throw the whole heap of trash away when a knock sounded at the door.
He went over, looked through the peephole, and saw a man outside.
His expression shifted slightly, and he opened the door.
The courier outside was startled to see that it was a white-haired youth who answered. After the initial surprise came a dazed stare, and he looked at the youth for a long while.
Fu Huai smiled. “Delivery?”
The courier came back to himself. “Ah... yes, yes. There’s a package here for Miss Bai Yao.”
Fu Huai snatched the parcel from him. “You can get lost.”
The courier stammered, “A-and Miss Bai’s signature is still needed. Is Miss Bai here?”
Fu Huai looked at him for a long moment. “You’ve been delivering my girlfriend’s packages all this time?”
The courier nodded nervously. “Yes.”
Bai Yao had had parcels before, but she had never let Fu Huai take them for her. It was ridiculous. Fu Huai was most sensitive to human desire. The instant this man had been fascinated by him, he had thought of Bai Yao. To say he had no fondness for her was impossible.
Fu Huai suddenly laughed, the sound sharp and piercing, assaulting the eardrums. “Don’t be ridiculous. A disgusting, ugly, filthy low-level worm like you still wants to compete with me for a girlfriend? Yao Yao loves me, spoils me, and would gladly offer me every precious thing in the world. What are you supposed to be?”
The courier’s face went pale, his whole body trembling.
Fu Huai seemed to have heard the funniest joke in the world. The venom in his voice slowly seeped out. “You can’t even compare to one percent of my beauty, you foolish clown. Just appearing in the air is already polluting my sight.”
He sneered, the dazzling smile on his face turning even more poisonous. “You idiot. You are not allowed to come near my girlfriend.”
The courier’s trembling was not from anger, but from excitement. He took an uncontrolled step forward, his eyes fixed with a sick, feverish intensity on the white-haired youth. “You’re right, you’re right...”
He reached out toward Fu Huai, and a hand suddenly yanked Fu Huai backward a few steps.
Bai Yao pushed the courier out, then took a pen, signed the slip, tore it off, and stuffed it into the courier’s hands. “Thank you for your trouble. Next time, we won’t make you come to the door.”
The apartment door closed mercilessly, cutting off the view.
The courier stood outside in a daze for a long time. Slowly, focus returned to his vacant eyes. He scratched the back of his head and wondered, confused, what had just happened to him.
Inside the apartment, Bai Yao turned to look at Fu Huai. Before she could even get her question out, the moment she opened her mouth, the young man lowered his head and sealed her lips with his, fiercely forcing his tongue into her mouth. She was pushed back two steps until her back hit the wall.
Fu Huai groped for her leg and lifted it, rubbing against her. With their lips still locked, he said bitterly, “You are not allowed to scold me for someone else. Not allowed!”
“Bai Yao, you are my girlfriend!”
“You only need to spoil me. Keep spoiling me, Yao Yao, Yao Yao...”
Bai Yao looked at him strangely. Every time he shouted at her, he liked to call her by her full name. Only at certain inexplicable moments did he affectionately call her “Yao Yao.”
He really was a contradiction.
