Chapter 107: Once I Fell in Love, the Whole World Became My Love Rivals (7)
Because Fu Huai kept making trouble now and then, Bai Yao tossed him a popsicle and sent him off to amuse himself, or else her plan to pack would be delayed yet again.
Fu Huai lay sprawled on the bed like a languid snake. He licked the popsicle with the tip of his deep-red tongue, deliberately unhurried, almost sensuous, his gaze fixed on her the entire time, though she never once looked up at him.
Barefoot, he stepped onto the floor and bent down, boneless and supple, draping himself behind her.
After taking a bite of the popsicle and holding it in his mouth, he lifted her chin with one hand, turned her face toward him, then lowered his head and fed the ice cream from his mouth into hers.
The cold sweetness melted between their tongues into syrupy honey. Whether it was the popsicle that was too sweet, or the mingled warmth of their breath that was too rich to bear, there was no way to tell where one ended and the other began.
Bai Yao’s breathing was stolen too thoroughly by him, turning a little ragged.
He gave a pleased laugh, drew back slightly, and licked away the moisture gathering at the corner of her lips. In that instant, the boyish charm in him, carried by that direct and unabashed look, radiated to its fullest.
With one kick he sent the suitcase skidding aside, then came to stand before her and lay down across her lap. While taking another sweet bite of the popsicle, he hooked an arm around her neck and tugged her downward, shortening the distance between them.
Fu Huai’s skin was so pale it seemed carved from cold jade, yet there was nothing chill about him. On the contrary, he was dazzlingly bewitching, and that single black tear-shaped mole could by no means be counted as a flaw in his flawless beauty. Rather, when he curved his bright eyes in a smile, that mole only made him all the more enticing.
He brushed his tongue over the corner of her mouth and smiled softly. "Yao Yao, play with me."
Now and then he was in a very good mood. When he was, he became especially clingy. Though to call it clingy was almost too mild now; he had become ever more adept at coaxing and acting spoiled.
Especially after that courier incident not long ago, when he had clung to her in a moment of losing control and thoroughly proved that his skill had not fallen off in the least, he was now dressed in wrinkled clothes, with several buttons undone at his shirt.
The moment he wrapped himself around her, he wasted no effort in showing her his perfect body.
Fu Huai truly was like a miracle of creation. His voice, his face, his body, nearly every part of him had grown precisely where human desire was most easily kindled.
No matter how vile or difficult his temper might be, man or woman alike would feel, in greater or lesser measure, desire awakened by him.
As for the so-called "breakup" between him and Bai Yao, he flatly denied it all. That had nothing to do with him.
To be honest, Bai Yao’s own understanding was a little strange too. If Fu Huai wanted to leave, then fine, they could break up. If he came back, then he came back. That was all.
Rather than saying they were a normal boyfriend and girlfriend, it would be more accurate to say they both treated each other as objects of indulgence.
Such pleasure could never be found in anyone else. Their relationship now was less a matter of "man and woman" than something better described by one word: symbiosis.
Bai Yao tried to push him away, but he caught her hand and placed it atop his head.
"I need to pack. If you’re bored, go find something to do," Bai Yao said.
Fu Huai held her hand and first rubbed the soft white hair on his head against it, then guided her hand to his face. Narrowing his eyes, he looked like a cold, contented venomous serpent. "Would that suitcase be more fun to touch than me? You should throw away those boring things and just focus on spoiling me. Yao Yao, I’m your lover."
Still holding her hand, he moved it lower, over his neck, past his collarbone, and along his chest, continuing the caress. He seemed to have drunk some thick honey water, and a pleased laugh spilled from him. His sweet voice carried a power that could drive anyone to madness.
"I’m really looking forward to the day Yao Yao can’t get enough of me."
He stuffed the last melting scrap of popsicle into his mouth. His vivid lips pressed together lightly, growing even redder.
As his red tongue licked his lips, his sickly pale skin made that color look almost blood-bright. Smiling with narrowed eyes, he held the wooden stick out to Bai Yao.
Bai Yao glanced at him and still took it, tossing it into the nearby trash can.
It seemed like a signal. She had accepted his not-quite-subtle hint.
Fu Huai laughed in delight, his boneless body trembling with it. He wrapped both arms around her neck and pulled her down, his rosy lips already leaning in to kiss her.
Bai Yao pushed his face away with one hand. "Stop fooling around. I’m going to work tomorrow. If I don’t finish packing, I won’t have time."
The smile vanished from Fu Huai’s face. Bewilderment surfaced on his exquisitely beautiful features. "Work?"
Bai Yao’s legs were starting to ache beneath him. She shifted a little and pulled the suitcase he had kicked away closer. "Didn’t I tell you? I passed the interview. I can go work as a nurse at Lanshan Hospital."
As she folded clothes, Bai Yao said, "That hospital is in the mountains, so the transportation isn’t very convenient. I’ll need to live in the dormitory, and I can only leave when I have time off. I don’t even know how easy it will be to buy things there, so I have to prepare all the daily necessities in advance."
Fu Huai’s brows knit together. He caught Bai Yao’s hand. "You’re not allowed to go."
Bai Yao asked, "If I don’t work, will you support me?"
He said, "I can support you."
That really was something. He was like a parasitic vampire, a creature who did nothing but stretch out a hand for clothes and open his mouth for food, and yet one day he could actually say, "I’ll support you."
Bai Yao found it amusing. "Can you endure a relentless work schedule? Or get up at eight and leave at five every day? How exactly are you going to support me?"
Fu Huai: "I..."
"You dare bring home things from those admirers of yours again and see what happens?"
Fu Huai shut his mouth in grievance.
In his memory, Bai Yao had always indulged him, but she especially hated him accepting gifts from those pigs.
The first real crisis in their breakup had come when that foolish imitation of a man, eager to show off his charm, had brought luxury gifts from others right in front of her.
Fu Huai said unhappily, "Anyway, you’re not allowed to go."
Bai Yao replied, "Your objection is invalid."
He sat up and said childishly, "Then I’m going too."
Bai Yao answered, "No."
His voice rose several degrees. "Why?"
"Once the matters at school are settled, you still have to go back to class. Besides, I’m going to work, not to go experience life. I don’t have that much time to look after you, and you definitely wouldn’t be able to stand that dull, tedious kind of life."
