Chapter Twelve: The Mysterious Teleportation Array
"Now that's more like it!" Qin Shuang smiled, and the bottle fell to the ground of its own accord.
With a sharp crack, the shattering of the bottle rang out, piercing the air. Whether it was the three sect leaders or the three rogue immortals, their eyes were filled with regret and alarm. A supreme spiritual artifact had been forged in mere moments, right before everyone's eyes, only to be destroyed just to serve as a warning.
"A warning, yes, that's what it is!" All the cultivators understood in their hearts—this powerful Qin Shuang was using his strength to tell them not to play tricks, but to work together with the Kuya people to solve the mystery of Ruan Ling Jade, and to do so fairly.
They understood, they thought it through, and the cultivators of the three great sects were at ease. Qin Shuang was only insisting they treat the Kuya people with fairness; he had no intention of helping the Kuya completely suppress them. Otherwise, everyone in the hall would already have vanished.
"Senior, we will follow your guidance!" Meng Xu was the first to react. He placed his piece of Ruan Ling Jade on the table beside Lei Shan. Three pieces of Ruan Ling Jade were now gathered together.
"We'll do as you say, Senior!" Ling Yufei was not far behind, personally placing his Ruan Ling Jade on the table.
As for Ling Jiang of the Wuling Sect, Ling Yufei had given up all other thoughts. If he wanted to save his Nascent Soul, there was only one way: find Lei Tian, and then exchange Lei Tian for Ling Jiang.
"Me too. Senior, whatever you require, just say the word!" Yang Dingtian was the slowest, only rushing to deliver his Ruan Ling Jade after rogue immortal Yang Qingtian sent him a reminder via voice transmission.
All five pieces of Ruan Ling Jade were now laid out on the table. Each stone began to emit a faint green glow, and even Qin Shuang was drawn in by the sight.
Gradually, the green light grew brighter, and the five pieces of Ruan Ling Jade began to rise, forming a strange symbol in midair.
"What a curious elemental spirit stone," Qin Shuang thought. He recognized Ruan Ling Jade as a special kind of elemental spirit stone, but the power it now radiated was unfamiliar to him.
The five pieces formed an irregular shape, slowly expanding outwards. Soon, the five stones drifted apart, and a blue-green sphere formed in the space between them.
The blue sphere grew steadily clearer, dots and faint colors appearing upon its surface.
After half an incense stick of time, the blue sphere solidified, now densely covered with markings. All the cultivators and Kuya people were baffled, unable to make sense of it; only Qin Shuang's face grew grave, and he began to take the origins of the Ruan Ling Jade seriously.
"What exactly is this? Brother Qin, do you recognize it?" Lei Shan stared for a long time but could not make sense of it, so he naturally turned to Qin Shuang for an answer.
Qin Shuang seemed not to hear, still frowning in thought.
His mind was in turmoil—even in the divine realm, he had never seen such an elemental spirit stone. The blue sphere formed by the five stones was clearly a model of Su Yu Star. From the void, this was exactly what Su Yu Star looked like.
None of these cultivators or Kuya people had ever been to the void, so it was no wonder they didn't recognize the sphere.
"Brother Qin?" Lei Shan called softly again. Seeing that Qin Shuang still didn't answer, he fell silent.
"Hey, come look at this—this part looks so familiar!" Suddenly, a cultivator from the Heaven's Gate sect at the Crossing Tribulation stage called out, pointing to a spot on the sphere.
"I think it's familiar too!" another Heaven's Gate disciple agreed. Soon, several people began to identify locations on the sphere they found familiar.
"This, this is Su Yu Star!" To everyone’s surprise, it was rogue immortal Meng Jun who first recognized it, exclaiming in astonishment as he pointed at the sphere.
"I remember now! This is our Tianhun Mountain—no wonder it felt so familiar!" The Heaven's Gate disciple at the Crossing Tribulation stage immediately reacted as well. They had all flown high enough to have seen Tianhun Mountain from above, but hadn’t recognized it on the sphere at first.
"Meng, are you sure?" the other two rogue immortals asked, frowning.
"I'm sure. I once tried to break through, and out of boredom flew up high. I saw half of Su Yu Star from above, but the fierce astral winds forced me back down. I remember it very clearly. That spot is exactly as I saw it before, only a bit smaller in scale," Meng Jun said loudly, pointing at a place on the sphere.
"He's right. This is Su Yu Star!" Qin Shuang, who had been silent, finally spoke.
Qin Shuang had pondered long and hard, but still could not figure out how these elemental spirit stones could create a model of a planet. Even with divine stones, he had never seen such an ability.
"Senior, then were we mistaken all along? The Ruan Ling Jade wasn't meant to take us to a fertile planet?" Disappointment was evident on Meng Xu's face, though his attitude toward Qin Shuang remained respectful.
"I'm not sure. I don't think it's just to show a model of your planet. Let's wait and see," Qin Shuang shook his head, unable to explain what he was witnessing.
"Look, something's flashing up there," called Ling Yufei, standing across from Qin Shuang. Where he was pointing, a red dot had begun to blink.
"That’s the Empty Wild Desert, isn’t it?"
Someone quickly recognized the location marked by the red dot.
The red dot grew larger, and then a shadowy image gradually appeared. Seeing the image, Qin Shuang's brow furrowed even tighter.
"A teleportation array? Could there really be a teleportation array on this planet that even I haven't found?" Qin Shuang was shocked. No one else recognized the image on Su Yu Star, but Qin Shuang had seen many of them before. It was exactly the kind of planetary teleportation array used in the realms of immortals, demons, and monsters.
"What is that? There are five holes in it?" The cultivators and Kuya people were stunned. The Ruan Ling Jade, as legend foretold, did indeed change when gathered, but none could decipher this transformation.
"That’s a teleportation array. I believe your wish to travel to other planets can now come true," Qin Shuang sighed softly, revealing the truth.
"A teleportation array! So that's what this is!" Rogue immortal Yang Qingtian was visibly excited. He had heard of such things and knew their function, but never seen one.
Qin Shuang hesitated a moment, then added, "Yes, I believe the teleportation array is precisely where that red dot is located!"
"Is there really a teleportation array there?" Qin Shuang's spiritual sense had already swept across that region many times earlier and found not a trace of a teleportation array.
"Does this mean we can really leave this planet?" Yang Qingtian's voice trembled with excitement.
Not only Yang Qingtian, but the three rogue immortals, the three sect leaders—all shared the same emotion. Su Yu Star, though vast, was desperately barren. Otherwise, they would never have competed with the Kuya over meager resources. Especially for cultivators at the Crossing Tribulation stage and rogue immortals: to transcend tribulation, they needed spiritual artifacts, but resources were scarce and artifacts difficult to forge. Their chances of success were pitifully low. Almost no rogue immortal survived five tribulations, and among those at the Crossing Tribulation stage, barely one in ten ascended to Great Perfection.
To reach a new environment, or to obtain rare resources and treasures, had long been their dream. Now, Ruan Ling Jade presented them with this opportunity, which was why these cultivators cared so much.
"Senior, may we go to the teleportation array right now?" The cultivators, though elated, had not forgotten their respect for the high and mighty Qin Shuang.
"Very well, let's go have a look now. But... never mind, let's all go together."
After some thought, Qin Shuang decided not to share the findings of his spiritual sense. He himself felt uneasy and wanted to see for himself.
The Empty Wild Desert occupied more than seventy percent of Su Yu Star's continent; the remaining thirty percent was mostly hills and barren mountains. On such a desolate planet, it was only natural that people would fight for resources.
Over a hundred cultivators, including three rogue immortals, three sect leaders, seven at the Crossing Tribulation stage, and sixty-five at the Void Meditation stage—seventy-eight in total, virtually all the cultivation force of Su Yu Star—followed closely behind Qin Shuang.
Lei Shan and his eighty clansmen were all wrapped in Qin Shuang’s spiritual power, flying along with him. For Lei Shan and his people, this was their first experience of the joy of flight.
Qin Shuang collected the Ruan Ling Jade, causing the blue sphere to vanish, but everyone had memorized the location by heart—it was over a million kilometers from Tianhun Mountain.
In half an hour, they arrived at the spot marked by the red dot. These cultivators were all experts, and their speed was impressive.
"There really is a teleportation array!" Sect leader Meng Xu actually cheered out loud. By now, Yang Qingtian had already explained the function of a teleportation array to them.
Qin Shuang was stunned once again. Right below them, in the midst of the desert, sat a diamond-shaped teleportation array, ten meters long and eight meters wide. Its red edge seemed to mock Qin Shuang with its presence.
What shocked him even more was that this teleportation array was unlike any he had ever seen; in fact, it was the first time he had encountered one of this design.
Yang Qingtian and the other two rogue immortals were already standing excitedly atop the array, while the other cultivators descended in delight. Only Qin Shuang, Lei Shan, and the Kuya people remained hovering above, watching eagerly. Lei Shan was anxious but helpless—without Qin Shuang’s spiritual power, they could not descend.
The cultivators acted like children, swept up in the thrill. They soon discovered that the teleportation array wasn't large—at most, it could squeeze in twenty people at a time. So, only about twenty could use it per trip.
After the excitement, Yang Qingtian realized the most pressing issue: none of them knew how to operate the teleportation array. They could stand on it, but as for how to activate it—not a single person had a clue.
