Chapter 16: Without a Refrigerator, Won’t This Meat Spoil?
A blade and an axe extended from the front of the vehicle, and this time, Lin Mu didn’t even bother to reverse—he dove straight into the fray. With his vehicle upgraded to level four, what was there to fear? The wild wolves rushed at Lin Mu’s car, attacking in unison. Yet the damage they inflicted was negligible, hardly worth mentioning. As the blade and axe swung relentlessly, wolf after wolf fell to the ground. Five minutes later, not a single living creature remained.
“These creatures don’t seem as dangerous as I thought. Their intelligence is quite low; they only know how to attack.” In theory, wild wolves should have a keen sense of danger. If they couldn’t win, they ought to flee. But these things lacked any such instinct—they only knew how to attack. Even in their final moments, they still tried to take a swipe at his vehicle.

Looking over his spoils, Lin Mu shook his head. “Sigh~ there’s so much that I can’t possibly eat it all.” He took out 100 pieces of wolf meat. It didn’t sound like much, but piled together, the sight was impressive—at least to people now.
Lin Mu stared at the mound of meat and snapped two photos. He opened the regional chat.
Unknown: “Picture.JPG, Picture.JPG. Just took down a few little pets and ended up with this much meat. What do you think—without a refrigerator, won’t it spoil?”
The once lively chatroom abruptly fell silent, leaving only Lin Mu’s two photos and his message behind.
Lin Mu stroked his chin. “Did I shock them? That shouldn’t be. With you all like this, how am I supposed to announce anything?”
In less than ten seconds, messages exploded.
“Damn, damn! How much meat is that?”
“No idea about the amount, but this guy’s definitely a big shot. Killing one beast usually nets ten pieces of meat, but that pile…”
“Boss, take me in. I can do anything.”
“geigei~~ I can do anything too. I can wear all kinds of clothes.”
“...”
Lin Mu glanced over the replies. It seemed the visual impact was too much for most people. Of course, some didn’t care, and it wasn’t clear if they were genuinely strong or just stubborn.
Seeing the timing was right, Lin Mu decided to make an announcement. He couldn’t eat all the meat, and it was just sitting there.
“I’ll be putting this meat up for trade soon. It’s raw, and a 10g portion only costs three pieces of trash—an absolute bargain.”
It was already the third day; more or less, people had managed to trade for some food. Trash, however, was only useful if you caught Lin Mu’s listings in time. Most either didn’t have trash to trade or missed the chance. This was a loss for Lin Mu. After all, trading away all his goods took too long, and that wasn’t ideal.
“Hiss!! There’s such a good deal? No way, I can’t throw my trash—I have to save it.”
“Damn, bro, you should’ve told us earlier! I wouldn’t have tossed my trash.”
“Ugh, I always miss out, and by the time I catch up, I’ve run out of trash.”
“...”
Lin Mu nodded in satisfaction. “Better save your stuff for me. When the time comes… hehehe.”
He opened the trading center and listed ten pieces of meat, enough to exchange for two hundred pieces of trash. Once the trades were complete, he’d list more. After all, collecting trash took time.
As soon as the meat was listed, the items vanished rapidly. Whether water or meat, they disappeared quickly. Though the traded quantities were small, since it was trash being exchanged, people didn’t hesitate.
Judging by the situation, the supply would last a few more hours. Lin Mu closed the interface and started his vehicle, moving onward. Time was tight and tasks were many today; he couldn’t afford to linger.

...
Lin Mu’s eye twitched. Releasing wild boars was one thing, but why were their tusks so thick and long? And the armor formed from caked mud on their bodies seemed absurdly sturdy.
Boom!
A wild boar crashed into his vehicle, shaking the entire car. Lin Mu’s longsword struck the beast, but only left a shallow wound—like scratching an itch for the boar.
He sighed, shifted into reverse, and reluctantly backed away. It seemed he’d have to waste quite a bit of time.
He quickly activated his modification skill, placing a silver ingot and his longsword into the system.
[Option 1]: Slightly increase weapon sharpness.
[Option 2]: Slightly increase weapon flexibility.
Lin Mu frowned. This was different from before. Previously, it just said “increase sharpness,” without “slightly” in front. If it were before, he wouldn’t care. But since upgrading his vehicle, Lin Mu knew that “slightly” meant a very small increment.
Never mind, he’d enhance the weapon first and study it in detail later when he had time.
After boosting sharpness, Lin Mu added an iron ingot to strengthen the weapon’s connecting arm. The enhancement wasn’t huge, but it was noticeably more effective.
Now his blade could cut through the skin and leave deeper wounds.
Half an hour later.
All five thick-skinned, tusked wild boars were finally dead, but Lin Mu had been forced to retreat nearly twenty kilometers.
“Damn it, what a bunch of infuriating creatures.”
If he wanted to claim all three waves of chests, there could be no delays.

???
Everything else was reasonable, but what was with the pig intestine? Even pig heart or liver would make sense—but intestine?
Lin Mu took one out from his space. A foul odor filled the air. He quickly put it back. Though tasty, cleaning it was far too troublesome.
Forget it, he’d just put it up for trade. Whoever wanted it could have it.
...
An hour later, a fox capable of spewing flames lay dead on the ground. Though it only spat small fireballs, the impact on Lin Mu was immense.
“So the danger includes creatures like this?”
Staring at the black mark on his windshield, he shuddered at the memory—the explosion when the fireball hit the glass made him think he was done for.
[Congratulations, player, for killing 1 dangerous S-grade fire-breathing fox. You have received: Fire-breathing Fox Hide x1, Level 1 Fire Attribute Crystal Core x1.]
He didn’t care about the rewards now; he just wanted to know—what on earth was that sound in the sky just now?
