Chapter 65: A Single Move to Seal the Deal (Part Two)
The sudden turn of events left the other two in the room utterly stunned. Long Yanyu managed to keep her composure—she had witnessed Liu Fan's abilities before, but compared to this, those previous displays were mere child's play, so although she was shaken, the shock was not overwhelming. Wang Zhenguo, however, was a different story. He had seen Liu Fan send Yang Chenjun flying with a single move before, but that had been a sneak attack, so in his mind, it didn’t count for much. This time, though, Yang Chenjun was going all out, yet Liu Fan effortlessly knocked him aside with a casual gesture, appearing not to use any inner force at all. That was what truly astounded him. To defeat a mid-tier Earth-level expert with nothing but physical strength—had he not seen it with his own eyes, he would have thought it was a scene from a movie.
“I thought you were something special,” Liu Fan scoffed, now playing the part of the arrogant victor. “Turns out you’re just a one-hit wonder. With skills like yours, you dare show off? Next time, don’t embarrass yourself unless you’re ready to face the consequences. Clearly, you haven’t learned your lesson.”
Liu Fan seemed not to consider that he was an immortal—a being beyond compare for mortals. On Earth, there were few who could even hope to match him.
Though Long Yanyu disliked Yang Chenjun, their families were close, and she couldn’t let things go too far. Seeing him in such a miserable state, compassion stirred within her, and she complained, “Couldn’t you have held back a little? You know your strength is overwhelming. A minor lesson would have sufficed, but now he’s severely injured and unconscious. How am I supposed to explain this to Uncle Yang?”
Her words made Liu Fan roll his eyes, and he replied irritably, “Come on! You saw how he came at me, full force, as if I’d killed his father. If I didn’t have a bit of brute strength, I might be the one lying there. I simply returned the favor.”
Liu Fan spoke as if it were nothing, but Wang Zhenguo was stunned. If a divine-level master’s strength was just “a bit of brute force,” then what was he, someone who hadn’t even reached the Heavenly tier? The realization left him speechless.
“That may be, but you didn’t need to hit him so hard. You’re decisive, but I can’t explain this to his family. What do you suggest we do now?” Long Yanyu cast Liu Fan a plaintive look as she spoke, although inwardly she was relieved to finally have an excuse to distance herself from Yang Chenjun.
“What else? Just let it be. Still, I’d recommend you call an ambulance. He’ll probably spend a year or so in the hospital, and then bounce back. I know how to control my strength—I have no intention of being accused of murdering a national security agent,” Liu Fan replied, paying no heed to Long Yanyu’s reproachful gaze.
As they spoke, they approached Yang Chenjun, who lay motionless on the ground, arms and legs splayed. If Long Yanyu hadn’t checked for breath, she might have thought him dead. His clothes were torn in several places, blood trickled from his lips, and a large footprint marked his collapsed chest.
“Could you at least wake him up first?” Long Yanyu pleaded, unable to bear the sight of Yang Chenjun in such a state.
“Hey, now, don’t you think you’re being unreasonable? He started the fight and treated me like a mortal enemy, and now you want me to heal him? That’s too much!” Liu Fan was clearly annoyed. Having heard Long Yanyu’s assessment of Yang Chenjun’s character—utterly vile—he had no intention of helping someone so despicable, as it went against his principles.
Long Yanyu had investigated Liu Fan and knew he was skilled in medicine and held strong principles—he refused to treat certain types of people, and Yang Chenjun was among them. Still, she pressed him. “Can’t you make an exception for me? Just wake him up—I’m not asking you to heal him completely!”
“You’re not even related to me. Why should I listen to you? I saved you once, remember—shouldn’t you show some gratitude?” Liu Fan was determined not to help Yang Chenjun and threw her words right back at her.
“You…” Long Yanyu was momentarily flustered, but then she remembered something and softened her tone, almost coquettishly. “I know you have your principles, but can’t you do this one thing for me? Besides, you’ve already touched... you know... twice now. Don’t you think you owe me something?”
The mention of those two accidental encounters embarrassed Long Yanyu, her words faltering as she spoke of such a private matter.
Liu Fan had always tried to avoid addressing those incidents, but now he could no longer dodge the issue. He shrugged helplessly. “Fine, you win. I’ll do as you say, but don’t bring this up again. You know it was just an accident.”
Without waiting for Long Yanyu to respond, Liu Fan knelt and pressed a few points on Yang Chenjun's chest. Moments later, Yang Chenjun groaned and slowly regained consciousness.
“Cough, cough… Where am I…?” As soon as he spoke, a sweetness rose in his throat, and he tilted his head back, vomiting a mouthful of blood that instantly stained his shirt crimson.
“I thought you said he’d be fine—why is he coughing up so much blood?” Long Yanyu was alarmed and questioned Liu Fan in a panic.
“He’s alright, he won’t die. His inner force was concentrated in his chest and unable to disperse. I used acupoint manipulation to spread the stagnant blood, so it was natural he’d vomit it out. No big deal—he’ll get used to it eventually,” Liu Fan replied, spreading his hands in an innocent gesture.
“Phew! That scared me,” Long Yanyu said, relieved, patting her chest.
“Ah, that’s much better,” Yang Chenjun gasped, finally able to breathe. But his relief was short-lived—upon seeing his “enemy,” he instinctively crawled backward several meters, fear and anxiety written across his face. “Don’t come any closer. I’m already beaten up—what more do you want?”
Clearly, the trauma Liu Fan had inflicted lingered. He had thought his ultimate move would clinch victory, but instead, in a blur, he felt a crushing blow to his chest and lost consciousness. Now, seeing Liu Fan again, his fear was palpable.
Liu Fan, seeing Yang Chenjun’s cowardly reaction, couldn’t even be bothered to speak to him and simply turned to leave. Long Yanyu, feeling some guilt, said, “An ambulance will arrive soon to take you to the hospital. I hope after this, you’ll learn something—at least, don’t be so arrogant.”
With that, Long Yanyu ignored him and hurried after Liu Fan, leaving Yang Chenjun dumbfounded. None of them noticed how, after Long Yanyu left, Yang Chenjun’s expression darkened and, inwardly, he swore: One day, I’ll make that woman kneel to me, and I’ll make that Liu suffer worse than death.
