Chapter 23: A World of Ice and Fire

Setting aside the fact that Feng Shang, under the old woman’s guidance, opened a secret passage, the teachers and students of Hanlin Academy, alongside Lei Dong, launched a thunderous surprise attack on the Daughter’s Kingdom. Meanwhile, the Seven Great Tremor Flowers and the Four Great Guardians also entered the kingdom.

"Fated Star, today we shall annihilate you in one fell swoop!" Teacher Xia Zhi shouted.

"Hahaha, such arrogant youngsters. If it weren’t for my body being wounded and unhealed, how could you have ever injured me and driven me to this place?" Fated Star sneered coldly. If not for these youngsters from Hanlin Academy, she wouldn’t have come here; and if she hadn’t come here, her injuries wouldn’t have healed halfway so quickly.

"Those brats from the Celestial Realm, one day I, Fated Star, shall return to exact my revenge!" She spoke with a bitter edge, recalling how she had fallen from the Celestial Realm. During a great battle there, she was gravely wounded, nearly dying. Her fall to the mortal world was what saved her life.

Fated Star had landed precisely in the backyard of Hanlin Academy; thus, the teachers and students rescued her swiftly.

At first, Fated Star was humble, greeting the teachers and students whenever she met them. Everyone favored this visitor from beyond the heavens. "Fated Star, is your injury healing well?"

Everyone saw only the wounds on her exterior, unaware that within her body, the grievous injuries had caused her demonic energy to leak out, leaving her almost completely drained of it.

Initially, Fated Star did not intend to oppose these mortals. She merely sought to heal swiftly and inadvertently trespassed into a forbidden area explicitly prohibited by the dean. It wasn’t intentional—inside that forbidden zone was a crystal orb radiating a mysterious power. Those who absorbed its energy found their magical prowess enhanced.

To this day, Fated Star did not know exactly what that crystal orb was. If Han Tianyue had seen it, he would surely have recognized it. Indeed, that was the same crystal orb spoken of by the spiritual entity—the one that imprisoned him. But why would two identical crystal orbs appear in two separate academies?

Since Han Tianyue had never seen this orb, he had no such doubts. As for Fated Star, after unintentionally entering the forbidden zone, the dean flew into a rage and struck her down nearly to death. She barely escaped, only to encounter the righteous couple Lei Dong and Lei Min, along with Lei Dong’s cousin Lei Cong.

Lei Dong and Lei Min were chivalrous souls. Seeing the Hanlin Academy’s teachers and students chasing Fated Star, who looked like no good, they intercepted her.

Though severely wounded again, Fated Star easily dealt with Lei Dong, Lei Min, and Lei Cong. Although Lei Dong and Lei Min couldn’t withstand her, this encounter left Fated Star wary of those who wished to harm them.

They journeyed toward the Purple Bamboo Forest and happened upon the Shamaness.

At this time, the Daughter’s Kingdom was governed by the White-Clad, whose rule was flawed but showing some progress. The White-Clad revered the Ninth Matriarch, who, however, paid little attention to political affairs. The Shamaness, busy with daily matters, was left in a minor role, breeding deep resentment.

Though Fated Star had lost much of her life force, she was still extraordinary compared to ordinary mortals. The Shamaness saw this and brought Fated Star into the Daughter’s Kingdom.

Fated Star was originally a yin-yang being; the Daughter’s Kingdom’s citizens did not consider her a man. Under the Shamaness’s urging, Fated Star became part of the kingdom.

The Shamaness’s anger was soon uncovered by the crafty Fated Star, who began advising her: "Why not use your influence to replace the queen?"

Thus unfolded a series of events culminating in the new queen being controlled by the Shamaness, ending her days nameless and forgotten.

As for why the Hanlin Academy’s teachers and students always examined the sinkhole when they encountered it, the explanation was not difficult.

"Take this!" Lei Dong, unaware of the grudge between Hanlin Academy and Fated Star, charged forward to avenge his wife. "Heavenly Thunder Strike!"

A bolt of heavenly thunder descended upon Fated Star.

Fated Star sneered coldly, shouting, "Demonic God’s Wrath!"

Instantly, the surrounding demonic energy coalesced into a massive black shadow. The shadow’s fierce eyes snapped open, glaring menacingly at Lei Dong and the teachers and students of Hanlin Academy. It opened its mouth and roared.

The heavenly thunder struck the shadow but was immediately absorbed.

"Everyone, attack together!" Teacher Xia Zhi flung someone aside with a fan strike.

"The Art of Breaking the Army!" Teacher Dan followed suit.

Other teachers and students joined in.

After the initial assault, Lei Dong struck again. "Heavenly Thunder Seal!"

Their combined skills converged on the demonic god’s wrath manifested in the shadow.

Fated Star laughed coldly, "Demonic God, let your fury burn even brighter!"

With her laugh, the shadow gradually transformed into blazing flames. The fiery red demonic god raised its palm and struck toward Hanlin Academy and Lei Dong.

Immediately, their faces turned grim.

"Darken the sky and block the sun!" One of the Four Great Guardians, Guan Tian, charged forward. Instantly, the heavens and earth of the Daughter’s Kingdom were sealed.

In the darkness, only the fiery red silhouette could be seen, relentlessly advancing toward Hanlin Academy and Lei Dong.

"Earth’s Hand, lift it up!" Another Guardian, Fu Di, placed her hand on the ground. Suddenly, beneath Hanlin Academy’s teachers, students, and Lei Dong, a giant claw emerged. As the fiery demonic god struck downward, the claw clenched tightly, producing a tremendous rumble that shook the sealed heavens.

With the Four Great Guardians’ aid, Hanlin Academy’s teachers, students, and Lei Dong leapt to the side of the Guardians and the Seven Great Tremor Flowers.

Fated Star cast a cold glance at the reinforcements and snarled, "You traitors!"

Guan Tian retorted, "You are the disgrace of our Daughter’s Kingdom!"

Their words sparked the flames of battle instantly.

"Roar, Fated Star! Let your fury blaze even hotter!" Fated Star’s eyes glazed over as she stared at the fiery shadow above, having entered a transcendent state.

"It looks like Fated Star is about to unleash her full power!"

Teacher Xia Zhi summoned all her strength.

Dan unleashed the “Art of Breaking the Army” once more.

Other teachers and students followed suit without hesitation.

Lei Dong struck again with "Heavenly Thunder Seal!"

"Family sisters, let’s attack too!" The Seven Great Tremor Flowers and the Four Great Guardians shouted.

In unison, the Seven Great Tremor Flowers advanced—

Tremor Tiger bellowed, "Dual Hammer Strike!"

Tremor Leopard shouted, "Absolute Speed Charge!"

Tremor Wolf cried, "Heavenly Wolf Combo!"

Tremor Elephant roared, "Overwhelming Impact!"

Tremor Rat yelled, "Underground Ambush!"

Tremor Snake hissed, "Poison Attack!"

Tremor Peacock called, "Peacock’s Tail Display!"

The Four Great Guardians did not lag behind—

Guan Tian declared, "The heavens and earth I seal, I command!" Darkness penetrated everywhere.

"Summon the Earth!" Fu Di cried, "Awaken, Earth!" The earth stirred at her call.

Luo Xuan exclaimed, "Mystery!"

Ping Huang shouted, "Alliance!"

Finally, Ping Huang’s Alliance condensed everyone’s power into a luminous barrier directed at Fated Star’s Demonic God Wrath.

“Demonic God’s Wrath Burst!” Alongside the barrier, a surge of black energy collided with the light.

"With your strength, what can you do to me?" As Fated Star’s wrath rose, the light dimmed, and everyone’s faces paled.

At this moment, the Daughter’s Kingdom citizens, long suppressed by Fated Star, rose one by one. "We join too!"

Thousands of faint powers converged into the light barrier, which began to glow once more.

"Hahaha, even all of you combined can only fight me to a stalemate!" Though the light regained brilliance, it still could not break through the Demonic God’s Wrath.

"And we as well!" From the palace, a group of lightly dressed women emerged, each unleashing their power into the light barrier, brightening it further.

"Hahaha, even so, don’t think you can defeat me!" The light barrier and the demonic aura formed two opposing horns, neither able to break through the other. Thus, the contest became one of internal strength.

"And us too!" While everyone struggled against Fated Star, three figures flew out from the palace. "Ice!" "Fire!"

One cast ice, the other fire—"The Dual Extremes of Ice and Fire!" Among the three, two intertwined their powers, transforming the space around Fated Star into a realm of ice and flame.

Within this icy-flaming realm, the Demonic God’s Wrath faltered.

"Perish!" A figure surged forward. "Ice Blade Slash!" A black ice blade descended upon Fated Star, heavier than demonic energy itself.

Fated Star’s expression changed drastically. "Death Qi!"

The breath of death fell from above. For the first time, Fated Star sensed the crisis of death, but it was too late. The Ice Blade Slash pierced through her body, and instantly, she collapsed. "Ah, I will return!" With her collapse, her agonized roar echoed through the air.
