Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Return of the White-Clad Figure
The iceberg standing before them was truly a headache. The seven Warlord Flowers, along with the Four Guardians—Fudi, Luoxuan, Pinghuang—and Mao Xuanzi, Fang Zhe, and Feng Shang, all looked at one another, unable to devise a viable strategy.
Meanwhile, the meditating Han Tianyue had shifted his consciousness into the space within his ring. As he entered, two giant dragons soared from the great gate. Hovering in the air, they noticed Han Tianyue had no intention of sparring and asked, "Why are you so dispirited today?"
Han Tianyue sat hunched on the plaza before the gate and replied, "I encountered a Spirit-Devouring Beast in the real world today. I don't know why I used 'Frenzied Rage' on it. Although the beast is temporarily trapped, it is bound to wake up in an hour!"
The two dragons replied, "If you could bring it into this space, we could naturally destroy it. But if it remains in the outside world, we certainly can do nothing about it!"
Han Tianyue looked up at the silver gate and the seven other dragons sleeping upon it. Though he did not know what was hidden within, these giant dragons served as the ultimate gauge of his strength; as Han Tianyue grew stronger, these dragons would awaken. That two had already awakened was a source of great encouragement.
As for the old man deep within Han Tianyue’s soul, there was a seal at his location that even Han Tianyue could not break, yet he could still sense the old man sleeping there.
"If only he were awake, surely he would have a way to deal with this Spirit-Devouring Beast!" The thought was nice, but Han Tianyue knew it was impossible.
An hour passes quickly. While Han Tianyue lingered in the ring space, the black iceberg before his physical body began to melt, and the body of the Spirit-Devouring Beast began to tremble within the ice.
"We have no other choice! Everyone, charge! At worst, we perish together!" shouted Pinghuang, one of the Four Guardians.
The seven Heaven-Shaking Flowers and the remaining two Guardians, Fudi and Luoxuan, exchanged glances and nodded. "For the Kingdom of Women, we are willing to die!"
Mao Xuanzi, Fang Zhe, and Feng Shang looked back at the meditating Han Tianyue. In truth, this matter had little to do with them, and sacrificing their lives here seemed hardly worth it. Yet, seeing these women making a final stand for their country, how could they, as men, even consider running?
It was a choice between life and death. Feng Shang spoke up first: "Let's go. We can return to help them once we have grown stronger!"
Fang Zhe disagreed: "If we leave now, I believe the Kingdom of Women will vanish from this world, and there will be no need to help them in the future!"
Han Tianyue remained unresponsive, leaving the final decision to Mao Xuanzi. He looked at Feng Shang and Fang Zhe, then back at the melting iceberg, the struggling beast, and the citizens of the Kingdom of Women. "It seems we have only..."
Before Mao Xuanzi could finish, a voice rang out from the distance: "Let me handle it!"
Everyone turned to look. A white figure flew toward them. As the figure drew closer, they saw a woman in white, covered in blood, landing on the north city wall. She drew a flute, leaped to the top of the nearly unsealed iceberg, and struck it with a simple attack. Instantly, the iceberg collapsed.
Seeing the woman return, everyone thought a savior had arrived, but unexpectedly, she had shattered Han Tianyue’s seal, and the freed Spirit-Devouring Beast became even more frenzied.
Weakened by heavy blood loss, the woman’s face was deathly pale. Relying on a sliver of consciousness, she landed and approached Fang Zhe.
Fang Zhe looked up at her; her meridians were strained to the limit, and it was clear she was holding herself together through sheer force of will.
"Are you alright?" Fang Zhe reached out to help.
The woman ignored his concern and asked, "You saved the Elf Princess. Did the Elf King give you something?"
At this, Fang Zhe, Mao Xuanzi, and Feng Shang suddenly realized: "Yes, the Elf King gave each of us a Tear of the Elves!"
"The Spirit-Devouring Beast was not originally this frenzied. It was only because its soul was lost and dissipated that it was captured by villains to be used as a caged beast. If we help it restore its soul, it will surely cease its madness," she explained laboriously.
Had Han Tianyue heard this, he would have been deeply aggrieved. He never imagined that the Spirit-Devouring Soul he had struggled so desperately to fight off was actually the soul of this very beast. He had exhausted every ounce of his strength to prevent his own soul from being consumed, only to find himself now facing the beast's physical form—and having to restore its soul as well.
None of the others knew this, but Han Tianyue, through his meditation, had realized the connection. At that moment, Fang Zhe was the first to pull out the Tear of the Elves. "Take this!"
Fang Zhe’s decisiveness touched the woman, though she quickly suppressed her emotions. She took the Tear, transformed into a streak of white light, and flew directly into the mouth of the Spirit-Devouring Beast.
The Tear of the Elves emitted a faint blue glow within the beast's mouth, and the creature gradually grew docile, its size shrinking. The tear not only restored its soul but also possessed a purifying effect, dissipating the frenzied rage.
"It worked!" Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the beast calmed down.
The blood-stained woman landed on the ground and said solemnly, "Do not let your guard down. The villains from the Valley of Heavenly Evil are already marching toward our Kingdom of Women!"
Seeing her so severely wounded yet still persevering, Fang Zhe felt a pang of heartache. Yet, she was a Queen, and she had brought them to the Kingdom of Women merely to use them. Fang Zhe felt a sharp pain: "Are you truly so cold-blooded and ruthless?"
