Chapter Five: The True Battle
After the crows dispersed, the entire hillside fell into silence. Everyone held their breath, watching Prince Mao. His eyes were bright as he gazed into the depths of the mountain. “Let’s go!” he commanded.
Under Prince Mao’s lead, the group ventured further into the shadows.
“This mountain belongs to us today! You’d better get lost!” A voice filled with disdain echoed from afar.
“How ridiculous! The mountain is vast. How can you claim it as yours?” Wen Ping, the eldest brother, strode forward and shouted.
“You fools, blind to greatness!” An orange flash shot toward them. Wen Ping had no time to evade and stood frozen in place—“Wall of Fire!” Prince Mao bellowed. The wall of fire intercepted the orange light, and Wen Ping was able to fall back.
“Interesting!” A sudden gale swept through, rustling the leaves. A masked young man appeared atop a branch before them, seemingly out of nowhere.
“Boca!” Those who recognized him cried out.
Though he had never seen this person before, Han Tianyue had certainly heard the name Boca. The power of the rainbow—one of the legends of the school.
“The legendary team… Looks like we won’t complete our mission this time!” someone exclaimed in panic.
“If Boca is here, the rest of the legendary members can’t be far,” Fang Zhe said, pulling out his lyre and scanning their surroundings.
“Ha! To deal with you useless lot, I alone am more than enough!” Boca looked down on Han Tianyue and the others, his tone mocking.
“Damn it, Boca, don’t go too far!” Prince Mao shouted angrily.
“Prince, don’t think you’re so important just because we invited you once. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have agreed to invite you at all,” Boca replied coldly.
“What? The legendary team invited Prince Mao?” Everyone was stunned. Joining the legendary team was a dream for all, and from Boca’s words, it seemed Prince Mao had refused.
“Boca, you’re not the only one with pride!” Prince Mao leapt forward, shouting, “Let me show you the will of fire!”
He traced a circle in the air with both hands—a ring of fire surged forth.
Boca dodged.
The branch snapped under the force of the fiery ring.
“Amber Memory!” Boca flashed behind Prince Mao and struck.
Prince Mao had no time to dodge, and was knocked to the ground.
“Prince!” Han Tianyue rushed to his side—
